I'm not sure if the 2006 Z4 has been launched here already, but they get engine upgrades. As of early this year, BMW's price list still showed the 2005 192hp BMW Z4 2.5i.Originally Posted by mrvicz

The 170hp 2005 Z4 2.2i(not sold here) becomes the new 2006 Z4 2.5i with 177hp.
The 2006 Z4 lineup also includes a new 265hp 3.0 liter inline-6 and a 343hp 3.2-liter inline-6 Z4M.The Two 2.5-Litre Six-Cylinders.
Two 2.5-litre power units round off the range of six-cylinders:
The BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5si, developing maximum output of 160 kW/218 hp, is among the top performers in its segment. Peak torque of 250 Newton-metres or 184 lb-ft is maintained consistently between 2900 and 4250 rpm, accelerating the Z4 Roadster 2.5si from 0–100 km/h in a mere 6.5 seconds. Equally su*perior torque and muscle is borne out by the car’s acceleration from 80–120 km/h in fourth gear likewise in 6.5 seconds. Top speed is 240 km/h or 149 mph, standard fuel consumption is 8.4 litres Premium plus/100 km, equal to 33.6 mpg Imp. And again it goes without saying that the Z4 Roadster 2.5si com*plies in full with both the EU4 and ULEV II emission standards.
In another version also boasting a 2.5-litre power unit, the Z4 Roadster 2.5i comes with maximum output of 130 kW/177 hp and peak torque of 230 Newton-metres or 169 lb-ft, replacing the former BMW Z4 Roadster 2.2i. The big benefit for the customer offered by the larger engine is the extra power and torque, a significant advantage above all when accelerating from low speeds.

Other options?
Nissan 350Z or a used Porsche Boxster

It depends:
For midlife crisis - Subaru WRX STI , Nissan Skyline GTR
To compensate for any insecurities in life - Porsche ( except boxster )
for that budget my best bet would be a Porsche Boxster S or non S. kung hindi kaya ng budget a 2nd hand one would work. Z4 is only 2.9m for the 2.5L , SLK ok din... but ud only get the SLK200 ata <-weak engine. S2000 for the japs but bare interior. A 350z convertible would work too... and tons of cash to spare.
if ur feeling adventurous ... a used 200sx and mod it to hell but i have a feeling ur that type of person hehe![]()

anyway happy hunting. keep us posted.
...may nakita ako dati red 993 carrera selling for 4.5M.
edit: oops! convertible pala hanap mo.
Nice budget.
If I were you, I'd save up a little more and get a pre-owned 645Ci for 6M.
Kung hindi talaga kaya, I'd get a pre-owned M3 for around 3.3 to 4M.
If it has to be brand new, then get the 350Z. I forgot the exact price pero I believe it's within your budget.
....gusto ata yung tipong headturner, but i would definitely agree with the E46 M3. pasok sa budget yan!
Karamihan ng gray market wala namang service record kasi imported. Mag-sama ka na lang ng mekaniko.
how about yung Nissan 350Z Roadster, Honda S2000, Lexus SC430...di ko lang alam kung meron dyan sa PI....
evo vii or viii? sobra pa ata yung budget mo.
and yes...nothing beats a boxster...

For less than P4M, I can buy a (475hp?) Saleen supercharged Mustang GT convertible ($56k) with all the trimmings. But, that's here, though. The remaining $20k? Rent some high-priced escort service women? Put in the bank? Get a V6 Mustang para pang-palengke?

Hey, I'm dreaming too. But, there is a Saleen Supercharged Mustang GT convertible at the local Ford dealer.Originally Posted by mrvicz
$56k is still less than P3M. P4M~$78.5k. What can I buy for $78.5k? 2006 BMW M5 with 500hp? Mmmm. Yum. Or, 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 with 510hp? Or, 2006 Chevy Corvette Z06 with 505hp? Mmmm. Drool.
Ok. Enough dreaming. If I get a 2-seater, I'd get a used 2G Toyota MR2 Turbo.

*scarab : uu gusto ko headturner with a bit of a punchim not a racer anyways ... naaawa ako sa makina
magkano ba ang brand new na boxter? is anyone here driving one? id like to know the ride, the punch, maintenance, gas consumption ...
edit : meron ba NSX dito saten? how much?
