November 30th, 2014 09:49 AM #125yes, the "silver edition" was 1982, but only in the phils, i believe. elsewhere, it was just a 1982 corona (marketing gimmick?).. and horribly heavy pawis-na-pawis steering..
but the 1974-77 was the famous RT100 series.. used to have one, albeit second hand that we resurrected from the bodega (o sige, junkyard)... loved that car! solid body.. smooth-riding double A arm front suspension, silent, bulletproof iron block engine, very soft steering, even as 'twas only pawis steering.. napaka-gaang ng clutch pedal!... and, for the era, very spacious. taxi companies flew to it like bees to honey, it became almost too baduy to own then..
rumor had it, its design borrowed from the ford t-bird.. but it was only a rumor..
so what was my first drive? a 1973 4 door ford escort ex-taxi!Last edited by dr. d; November 30th, 2014 at 09:55 AM.
