    fellow tsikoters,

I told sa insurance agent nila that my car is casa-maintained and sabi niya is baka mag-usap din sila ng casa just in case...but parang di sya sure...

Nung una dadalhin daw nila sa shop nila para tignan but I told her na totally wrecked na yung harapan at likod. Nasa MMDA compound ngayon yung tsikot ko.

My car is CRV 1999 model.

I would like to seek your opinion/suggestions please...

    Thanks a lot.

Sorry to hear about your horrible accident.

I was just wondering how the accident happened. Your car was sandwiched but the affected areas are the front and rear.

Claim against the dump trucks insurance company (what's the company?) to avoid the costs of participation/deductible and depreciation. Deductible is .5 or 1% of your insured value; while the depreciation is 40 or 45% of the costs of the parts to be replaced.

You could insist on casa repair; but if the insurance company insisted on its one of the accredited shops, choose the best repair shop.

Also, please check if the damage to your vehicle could warrant a declaration of total loss (the repair estimate must be at least 75% of the value of your car) If so, you may declare it as total loss and get the cash settlement.

thanks for the quick reply sir j.

What would be your cash figure for this sir?

Hot tip: you can always insist that on what shop your car should be repaired. Although for collision repair - the casa option is the best some times. There are other better collision specialists out there.

How much is the insured value of your vehicle? I had an accident before but the repair amount only amount to 50% of the insured value and it was repaired close to the original specs.

for me, i'd declare the vehicle as 'total wreck' tapos kunin na lng yng money from insurance & buy another car...

i'd go with the cash settlement na rin kung di din naman siguradong 90% or more maibabalik sa original ang repair but the down side of it is that we're not sure kung magkano ang cash settlement and baka kasya lang sya for a downpayment for a new car or settle for a 2nd hand vehicle... syang sir ang CRV... may pics po b?

For a 1998 model, siguradong mababa na ang insured amount. Maybe it's better to have it repaired at the casa to near original specs then sell it at a higher price than the insured amount. Downside is, it might take at least a month para matapos ang repairs.

i agree, just insist on bringing the car to Honda shop. not only they can restore the damage but restore the original paintworks as well. dagdag lang ng konti para washover na rin .

They sandwiched you without putting mayonnaise and lettuce/tomato.

Please post the repair estimate. BTW, Malayan is a reputable company. I think it's still no. 1 in the industry.

Or nag sudden brake yung dump truck sa harapan?

If i were you, i'd go with cash settlement instead, just make sure it's the same amount as its current value. Sobrang nasira na yung car eh. Kahit ma-repair yan aesthetically, structurally compromised na yan.

sirangkotse, yung sinasabi mong 350-380K e yung insured amount ba ng CR-V mo? How much ba ang market price ng 1998 CR-V ngayon?

I think only a "front cut" surplus will put that back in better order rather than straightening that up.

damage is quite bad. sorry for the demise of your CRV.
