...while the 1968 C3(3rd gen) Corvette Stingray had a new body similar to the red 1970 model above, obvious exterior differences with the '68 and '70 model are the following: grill with horizontal bar design, round signal lights, 4 slot gills and dual round exhaust outlets.
By the way, is that a 350 LT-1 V8 in the red 1970 Corvette Stingray?

January 12th, 2006 08:04 AM #34It is a 71.
68 to 69 Vette have round front turn signal, 70-72 have trapezoidal turn signal.
68 to 69 Vette have 4 vertical side exhaust, the 70-72 have egg crate side air vents.
68 to 69 Vette have round tail pipe exhaust, 70-72 have rectangular tail exhaust.
68 Vette has its ignition key on the dash, 69 up was the steering column.
68 Vette outside door opener needs a button to open the door, 69 up uses the door handle to open the door.
68 Vettes were plagued with so many deffects because it was rushed into production(it was supposed to be intoduced as a 67 model but Zora Arkus Duntov deffered it for a year because of overheating and aero dynamic problems).
By the 69 Model Year, most of the production problems were resolved.
I am a Vette enthusiast since I was in high school(you shoul know that Scalpel) and have my fair share of the 3rd generation Corvettes.
An LT1? Yes! Look at the hood bulge as oppose to the flatter hood of the base model.Last edited by turbo; January 12th, 2006 at 08:10 AM.

To non-Corvette owners, a '70 and '71 look almost alike...
Those were one of the last 70's small-block V8 Vettes that still made over 300 hp (around 330 hp right?)... as they approached the mid 70's the horsepower really went down.
Out of curiosity, what tire size does it use? They look wide and the rear fender flares(wheel arch) look widened?

Pag chrome, Ebay.
OK yan ah. 350/th350?
Punta ka d2, tignan mo yung 69 namin, 427/4spd.
Kids, listen up.
CHIP just bought my 68 Ram Air Firebird! This should have been one of my project cars, pero I want Chip to have the feel of restoring a Muscle car. Ganda ito, the hood alone cost 50K. Hehehe.
