CAMPI nakakuha ng kakampi




Nadagdagan ng lakas ang Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) sa ipinaglalaban nito ukol sa importasyon ng used vehicle sa bansa.

Kamakailan ay nagpahayag ng statement ang Joint Foreign Chambers na naghahangad din ng pagsugpo sa importasyon ng used vehicle. Sa liham ay hinikayat ng foreign investors ang administrasyon ni Pres. Gloria Arroyo na tanggalin na ang direktiba na nagbibigay ng kalayaan sa pag-aangkat ng gamit nang mga sasakyan.

Hiniling din ng Joint Foreign Chambers sa pamahalaan ang muling pag-eliminate nito sa polisiya ukol sa used vehicle importation at kumpirmahin ang koleksyon ng P500,000 specific duty na ipinapataw sa bawat imported used vehicle sa ilalim ng Executive Order no. 418.

Binigyang-diin ng CAMPI na ang panawagan ng Joint Foreign Chambers ay napapanahon sa kabila ng patuloy na pagbabalewala ng gobyerno na maipatupad ang mga batas at regulasyon na nagbabawal sa importasyon ng used at right hand-drive vehicles lalung-lalo na ang EO 156, Republic Act no. 8506 at EO 418.

Tinutukan din ng automotive industry na ang pag-aalala na inihayag ng foreign investors ay dapat bigyang-pansin sa gitna ng mga expose na ginawa ni Sen. Richard Gordon sa malawakang smuggling at under-valuation ng used vehicles na nangyayari partikular sa Subic Freeport.

I don't agree with wholesale used-vehicle importation.

nagiging first resort kasi ng mga tao e. these vehicles are junked vehicles in their countries of origin, never mind that most of them are shoddy RHD conversions.

during the time of Marcos he encouraged the car development program and supported it with the ban on importation ng second hand vehicles...remember nung nauso ang chop-chop na town-ace... dami hinuli after that total ban na... marcos was on the right track of enticing foreign investors for the car development program...nung na tumba sya naiwan ang MMPC with the box lancer and L300.
