sana lang, they pick a one brand for the parts, not a hodge-podge of multiple brands. for example, use toyota parts through out the vehicle.
aren't the innards of the anfra from mazda?
Yes
No

Yup...
Anyway - there is already a Made in the Philippines vehicle which is being exported abroad: Mazda Tribute, Mazda3, Ford Escape, Ford Focus, Isuzu Crosswind.
If we really want to support our local automotive industry realistically, just patronize the said products.
Having our "own" automotible brand to be "patrioritc" is a bit silly when most Filipinos buy Colgate (made in Thailand) rather than Hapee (proudly made in the Philippines).
It is not just about being patriotic. I guess you are simply too young to remember the days when "Colgate" was synonymous with toothpaste. The very idea of having a competitor, much less a locally produced one, was simply unthinkable. Yet today we have several local players who have managed to carved out their respective market niches.
Progress has to start somewhere. The concept of a locally designed/produced automobile is a worthwhile undertaking, if only to say yes we can. Who knows, from these efforts, a progressive car might be developed locally (fuel-saving, modular, etc.) Even if we don't achieve that but if in the process, we are able to develop affordable car components, then we would have still achieved something.
What is wrong with attempting? After all, we will never know how far we can reach if we don't take the initial steps.
For a budget/low-end vehicle?
Sige, fine by me
For executive cars and above, Japan-made CBU pa rin ako :D
Walang masama d2.
sana this time, ma-suportahan ng pinoy buyers...
Well, if it's Philippine made, proud na proud ako bumili nito. Buy pinoy, 'ika nga! I don't care if the quality is not that much, kasi prototype pa lang. Isa pa, if local manufacturers are building it, then for sure well- established na ang mga parts nito kasi newer technology na rin gamit nila. Actually this backyard auto industry could have propelled the Pinoy's realization of a very own brand. Let's all hope for the best.
Siguro dapat:
-Its affordable (<=350k)
-its a utility vehicle
-relatively fuel efficient diesel engine (siguro mga at least 10km./l) and dapat papasa sa smoke belching test hehe.
-exempted sa color coding
-may aircon
-sa harap ang engine bay
-may power steering
- mura ang parts
for once in our lifetime, suportahan naman natin ang produktong pinoy.. at 300-350K dont expect anything more.. at least meron tayong maipagmamalaking sariling atin... and it will start from there... kung i-pa patronize lang ito ng maraming pinoy..soon it will grow and malay mo in the near future magakaroon tayo ng sariling outfit like tata of india, proton of malaysia, etc...
so lets give it a chance!!!![]()
ewan ko hindi talaga realistic eh. yun nag-issue ng press statement na'to, giving false hopes. since the 90's pa yan mga people's car people's car na yan. wala naman nangyayari.
if i'd known any better, seeking for media mileage lang yan. pag nakatapos sila ng isang prototype, 500k na isa nyan at bare na bare pa.
even sa Mech eng namin sa DLSU, gumawa ng prototype car yun isang professor doon. laman sya ng dyaryo noon, school editorials and everthing. asan na sya ngaun, probably nasa isang international robotics company.
are we rich in natural resources ie materials used in cars, metals, aluminum? no.
are we rich enough to import the materials needed? no.
are we rich enough to build a manufacturing plant on our own? no.
ngaun if we are going to seek foreign investment or $$$$$$ investments, sinong investor in his right mind would support a filipino brand? we are only rich in people resources, yan ang i-make use nila but with their brand in mind of course.

Carlo test drive natin ah.hehe.Sana maganda yung name.![]()
It would be nice if they start it this way:
No Power Windows
No Power Door Locks
No Power Antenna
No Power Tail Gate
Just power steering.
No Sossy Safety features... Basta equipped w/ 3pt ELR Seat Belts, and Crumple Zones or a very rugged front nose/hood. Basta may Passive Safety lahat.
Quality & Durability - since Business for Weekday and Family for Weekends.
Roof should be tough (Passive Safety).
Leg Room, Headroom, and Cargo Room should be the important thing in the interior. ANd oh, a quite cabin.
Should have a good aircon and seats.
Parang Kia Pride or a LAda pero more on the durability, capability, utility, as well as having a comfort potential.
I suggest they should start with a car to compete w/ Adventure, Innova and Crosswind. I also wanna suggest that they should also try to make single cabs to compete with L300 FB, L300 Pickups and Multicabs.
Speed is not a top priority. I guess torque is what it needs. Its good enough that it can cruise 120 kph.
Oh... Almost forgot.
I am willing to give you my designs...
Just PM me kung ready na mga CAD. And since Christmas naman ngayon. I have a lot of free time. ;D
Darn, I hope I could learn operating a CAD since many people dont want to teach a Nursing Student.![]()
