its just partly the car, its how they spend the taxes we pay them. not wise.

Well if it's anything, I don't like the way they maintain their existing fleet. Same for the rest of the government and many of the public utility/commercial lot.
Nagulat nga me yung mga Altis na nakikita ko malilinis kahit mga 1 year old na (asumption from the facia/taillights).
Actually, the Altis and Innova are practical police cars. A Vios is a very small car, and it'd be difficult to carry suspects in the rear of the Vios, now wouldn't it?
As for the Chevys, that's the result of bidding... or of cost saving. You get the cheapest cars possible... but not the cheapest to maintain (hopefully Chevy gives them extended free service).
Again, I'd prefer for our police to be driving gasoline-powered bottom-of-the-line Innovas. Almost the same utility as the Adventures and Revos of old, while being much more agile and a lot quicker than those old wagons. And the price is just right... and a better value and more practical vehicle than the Vios, Altis or Optra are for the work they're meant to do.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Last week I saw an Adventure new model.. RED PLATE.. white paint.. police car.. wang wang.. d2 sa cebu..it was fast di ako nkag snap shot

I passed by Toyota Manila Bay on my way to the Mall of Asia, and voila, rows and rows of white Altis police cars (complete with sirens) for Manila's Finest! Metorbank must have been such a killing selling so many units at one time and it probably helped solve their problems of moving the "old" Altis bodies in time for the new Corolla next year. Btw, the police Altis are sporting the new grille.

hehe, a lot of opinions. It's sad that our police force(or the govt) has this reputation/notoriety. I agree that it's a lot of money which they could have used on other more important things. Let's just hope that they use wisely and give due care on these properties which we paid for using our tax money. Hehe imagine if they got the Altis G spec, that's almost 1M each!!!
I'm thankful that at least we can see where the money went into.

Just go to the nears Chevy dealerPero grabe talaga LTO, walang sinasanto, pati ba naman yung mga Optra police cars, wala pa ring plate numbers.
Sa Paranaque, there's this one cop car. An Altis 1.8G with super-black tint! If I were a criminal, yun siguro yung nightmare car na masakyan when you get arrested. The leather seats would be nice, but the fact that nobody on the outside can see what's going on inside the car is quite scary.
The 'nicer' cop cars are usually detailed to VIP's. Iglesia ni Cristo here even has its own police station securing the INC compound and it's VIP's. The cop cars do go on Patrol, but not for the general public.

uy! may bagong police cars ang San Juan. Aside sa Hilux, meron na silang pimped Altis (body kits by Atoy) and it looks good! I havent seen one yet pero nasa newspaper siya last week.
Wooh, what's this? a rice racer of a police car...he he heBtw, I thought the police only used the Altis J? I saw a lots of new police outfitted Altis "J" at Toyota Manila Bay a few months ago. I think they were for the Manila Police
I have seen the Hi-Lux "E" of San Juan. Feeling California PD yung black-white scheme of their pick-ups.Interesting choice in the type of vehicle. I rarely see pick-ups being used primarily as patrol cars around, even in the US. In the US, their favorite patrol car is the Ford Crown Vicky (Victoria).
I usually see them hunching near Plaza Lorenzo Luis in Chinatown or cruising at Jose Abad Santos. Dapat ata sila hulihin kasi N-P-N-T policy parin para sa lahat! and No one is above the law!, that includes the police patola force![]()
Another waste of taxpayer money, govt vehicles don't need body kits. Heck all our Crown Vics just get the police package with heavy duty shocks and alternator, a cage, radio and lights.
edit: Forgot to add it also gets a computer so the officer can run record checks on people and vehicles.
