Yung pindot2 nalang ng button para maka select ng Gear.
Mag make sense din if button na ang type ng gear selectors.

Pero it won't make sense sa mga naka traditional gear lever selectors na AT.

It doesn't matter if it's a physical shifter, knob, or button. There is still a dedicated "Park" mode wherein the transmission stops transmitting power and sets the parking pawl. It is a mode that must be manually engaged or disengaged by the driver.

Just splitting hairs to say that the auto-hold does not put the transmission in Park. It just applies the brakes.

Exceptions to the rule may apply to say, cars with various degrees of self-driving capabilities and EVs. They most often don't have an actual transmission so the actual brakes on each wheel works as a replacement for the parking pawl.
