They call it Tukod, Nosedown, JDM Drag stance and subsob.
They say it prevents weight to be transferred to the rear thus less traction. Coz di daw uupo yung rear end and gives more grip.
How true is this?

I say kung FWD ang drag car mo , it makes no sense kung AWD or RWD ito .
no need for a nose down stance if you want to drag race. Just having a stiffer suspension would do the same thing.
A stiff rear would prevent the rear from "sitting down" on a hard launch.
A stiffer front would prevent/minimize wheel hop during a hard launch.
a setup like that might be helpful for drag but worse on street. handling wud definitely be affected.
JDM stance? no way, kailan ka ba nakakita ng yashio or world racing jdm civic na naka tukod?
IMO, its for racing lang.

IMO, pinapauso ulit yung 70's and early 80's porma. if you have a car in that era, go ahead. sabayan mo ng thich and wide tires sa likod. pero kung naka civic ka wag na.
To get grip on a RWD car, tanggalin ang shocks sa harap. Hindi literal na tanggal, yung parang sirang shocks. pag launch mo, tatalon yung harap, transfering all wieght to rear. inaangat ang rear para magkasya ang drag slicks and hindi sobra ang angat ng harap.
I stand by my opinion, sory sa matatamaan pero New model cars na tukod look absolutely stupid and ugly. Kung gusto talaga gawin yun then put wide and high profile tires sa likod. Stupid pa rin kasi FWD pero at least not as ugly.
:bwahaha: :hihihi:
good for drag racing, IMHO. On the street, I really hope you have a big HP number to back it up.
I agree. ;)Originally posted by Bubbles

meron pa kahapon kasabay ko sa highway. super subsob, new civic, silver, with chin spoilers, with black eyelids, and holes sa rear bumper. super baba nun harap dunno na lang kung kaya pa nun kahit ang pinakamaliit na hump sa kalye. :freak:
baka naman kapag sumakay ang buong pamilya niya ay pantay na he..he
loading purposes, parang pickup he..he
jdm?! imho the japs know better than do THAT to a car... i don't think i've ever seen any of the tuners there do this...Originally posted by FerioEG9Boi

dito lang sa pinas (and probably sa u.s. import scene) uso yan... take note "uso."
the weight transfer and traction problem can be prevented by just using stiffer springs/dampers at the rear and using stickier tires respectively. no need for this exaggerated look that says, "hey look everyone! i am a drag racer!" kawawa naman handling ng auto overall...
but i'm surprised marami gumagawa nito... sabagay marami ring may trip kay april boy...
