right now Mitsu USA has the galant, lancer, evo, endeavor, outlander and montero..they are also about to introduce the next gen eclipse and eclipse spyder, and a dodge dakota-derived truck, the raider.then next year the montero (pajero/shogun) will fade into the american horizon.so i wonder if that's enough product to make their existence work and recover.
mitsu trims lineup,sales in US
mitsu selling its US operations?

They even suffered after GM dropped them. The GM Company got tired of paying Mitsu's debt. :hihihi:

Knowing that by history, Mitsubishi used to be the #2 japanese carmaker and they have been sliding since the 90's when honda started to make a noise on their quality cars. They were really suffering with substandard quality with poor response from the company when customers complain.
They are popular nowadays outside of the United States and not on Cars but on their big trucks. They are still known to produce good engines until today and theirs are the reliable ones when it comes to engines of big trucks.
These days, I really beleive that companies can turn around 180 degrees. I remember on the early 90's when SUBARU was reported to have suffered very poor annual figures successively for years. Of course, it was reflective then of their boring car designs and really bad quality. SUBARU had been known to have good engines but noisy with bland designs and interiors. And THEN, everybody was surprised when they came out sometime late 1996 when SUBARU made a major turnaround of the company's products and made it back to the competition. I was one of those who came to get one of theirs. My SUBARU OUTBACK IMPREZA was the sportiest sedan during that time. HE HE HE..
I'm sure that for a japanese company, they would be able to find investors and turn things around. If TOYOTA can do it, why can't other car manufacturers? Wala naman yatang magic spells kailangan to build a good car. That's why KIA and HYUNDAI have major leap on their vehicles' performance, probably because of what they have learned after years of experience. But they still have to prove their product to the public that they are reliable. That's why they offer these long warranties to gain the driving public's confidence.
I can understand if ISUZU would back-out from the US since they only sell SUV's, but sayang if Mitsubishi would do the same when they have already established their name. All they have to do is really make good products and market it correctly.

I agree with cyberdoc95. Good companies like Mitsubishi can do a 180-degree turn-around. Toyota did it so there is no reason for the the Three-Diamond brand not to accomplish the same. Besides, the U.S. market has a history of being...biased (for the lack of a better word at this moment) against Japanese cars. Mitsubishi is very popular in Europe.
