    hehehe..revive ko lang.
is there such a way para ma-DIY yung compression testing?
paano ba malalaman kung loose compression ang ride mo?
ano ang symptoms ng ride na may loose compression?
may shops pa ba other than Autoteknika wherein you can check your ride if it's still normal? preferrably malapit sa ortigas/pasig/cainta/marikina.
    TIA!

PRECISION AG along Roces Avenue Quezon City (near Tomas Morato) does compression testing.

AUTOPLUS along EDSA Mandaluyong also does compression testing

You need the proper bungs for a DIY compression tester... you just need a pressure meter that reads up to at 200 psi (at least), hosing, and a plug that'll fit into the spark plug socket.

The process is simple. Disconnect the ignition wires so the engine won't crank up when you start it, and disconnect the fuel rail from the fuel line (if you can) so it won't flood.

You take out one spark plug at a time and screw the plug into the hole, and start the engine a few times. Note the reading on the pressure gauge. Repeat for all the other cylinders. You'll find leaks by noting discrepancies between cylinders. If they're all within 2-4 psi of each other, they should be okay.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Niky, If it happens that all four cylinders are leaking (readings are significantly low) and yet they're delta with each cyclinder is within 2-4 psi, does it qualifies as loose compression too?

more or less 100-120psi per cyl kasi.

Yun nga yata... not sure per engine kung ano yung exact... depende rin yata sa ambient pressure. Last time I did this, 110-112 yung engine na na-test namin. Malakas pa yung hatak niya, naninigurado lang ako dahil surplus.

If your engine starts to lose compression from blown piston rings or a leaking gasket, usually, the effect is stronger for cylinders on one side or for one particular cylinder.

There's also a wet and dry procedure for this to determine what part can be blown.

mga sir tama ba, pwede rin ma-test ang compression when downhill, kapag may engine brake at first gear, kapag kayang kontrolin ng makina ang pagbaba mo ibig sabihin e ok pa sya...
