Lite Ace Top Speed?

Mga tsikot peeps....we just bought a 1993 Lite Ace this morning...and i drove it from QC to Paranaque.

Tanong : Hangang 80 to 90 kph lang ba top speed nito? Yung 5k Engine di ba 1500 lang to?

I guess the next question is there a way to make this run a little more faster? kahit up to 100 to 110kph man lang?

i think the question you should ask first is...

what is the SAFE top speed of a vehicle with a high center of gravity and narrow wheel base such as the lite ace. safety first pare. pag tumaob yan dika bubuhayin nyan. running a sedan at 100 kph is not the same as running a van at 100 kph. konting ekis mo lang ng manibela nyan laking diperensya nyan sa stability.

but i've ridden in vans at the expressways here in indonesia and thailand that cruise at 110 kph. the BIG difference is the roads here are much safer than the roads in the philippines, except for the newly asphalted nlex and portions of slex. sa slex nga pag nasa cemented portions ka na where the road is not that even, even cars slow down a bit. para kasing nakasakay sa kabayo pag sa cemented portion, bawat break sa concrete becomes a chance for the car to bounce.

kaya siguro nyan ng 110 kph basta straight at pantay ang kalsada. pero pag liko, kahit konti lang mag-menor ka na. dala mo sa nlex, it may take some time for the lite ace to accelerate to its top speed but i think it can go faster than 90kph naman. menor ka lang sa curves ha.

Thanks sa reminder...medyo nanibago nga ako since walang "nose" itong van (i have been driving cars and SUV's for a long time). The steering also.

Well safety is indeed the number one thing. I guess i was looking for better response sa 1st gear. Also pano nalang pag akyat baguio baka di kayanin with 5 passengers plus luggage? Anyways this will be the everyday car of my mom and lola so driver na mag drive. I guess its better na it doesnt run so fast

Anyway if there are other advice out there re : Lite Ace...give it to me

WE had one way back in 1991. Grabe ang hina ng engine. Its a gas guzzler in the city but its fuel efficient in the highway.

About your question, the topspeed of our liteace is 120kph. 6 passengers plus luggages and aircon is on. if you turn off the ac i think it will reach 130kph. sobrang bagal talaga. heck, our L200 can reach 155kph

If your planning to use it in baguio DONT! We brought it at baguio in 95 and we came across a steep uphill. Grabe 1st gear lang 20kph pinned the pedal to the metal and the ac was off. Super hina talaga ng engine.

if that is the topspeed of your liteace then definitely theres something wrong with it. Even a dilapidated bus can reach 110kph

60+ hp lang ang engine ng Lite Ace. Akala ko nga typo lang yung nasa brochure, eh. So don't expect it to be fast. But the Lite Ace I ride in most of the time can reach 100 kph naman.

hindi mo naman kailangan patakbuhin ng mabilis yan eh..hindi yan pang-racing..basta nagagawa nya trabaho nya..oks na un..miss ko tuloy lite-ace ko..liit pero kasya buong barkada..haha..

We had one like that before. Very bouncy ride and lots of rattles inside. But space is very good, very versatile.

Yes, the engine is so weak for the van's weight. Around half the Civic VTi's power and much more mass, so it's really damn slow. City fuel efficiency is not good either, probably because the engine is struggling so much. And it's also carbureted.

Top speed should go up to 130 km/h.

Actually tingin ko beyond 90 kaya pa eh ang ingay na nung makina plus walang tach so di ko alam anong RPM na.

Yung distributor pala nito may Contact Point Pa....Sorry sa mga old school

Yung 83 Corolla ko noon college ako (back in 91) kinabitan namin 5k Engine, yung Distributor wala nang contact point...i just bought a different coil igniter.

Anyway siguro tune up lang to.

OT : OTEP saw the thread sa 4X4Wire Mitsu talk...sipag mo pare...maybe we can get them to send "Montero Stearing Gear Box"

Southbound slex has an upward angle and dun mahihirapan kayo ma-attain yung top speed nyan. Try doing it in the opposite direction, I mean northbound lane and try the actual speed. You should do it before reaching the Shell on the other lane which the road ascends. Or better yet, pay a 100 at the exit and use the Skyway.

hmm... owned one b4 circa 1991... managed to reach 135 kph but it was still very new at that time... but it won't exactly win any drag races either... ;)

it's just a very versatile small commuter van which i also used in my business... got it up to Baguio (via Kennon pa!!) about 2-3 times but again it was still new then...

A friend of mine told me that it can go as high as 135 kph with the aircon off. :D

we also have 1990 liteace.. mabagal at mahina nga engine.. leg-room lang talaga pinaka okay sa kanya.. top speed namin eh 120Kph... ayaw ko na isagad dahil gusto ko pa mabuhay..
nadala na namin ito about 6 times sa baguio via kennon road eh nakaka-akyat naman with 6 pasengers at luggage namin.. kaya nya 2nd gear basta naka bwelo ka na.. pero pag minalas ka at napa-full stop ka ng paakyat eh halos forever 1st gear ka na hehe..

tune-up lang siguro yan at palit ng spark plugs at contact point..
pa-linis mo din carburator baka maitim na..

ang kupad talaga nyan..biro mo dati meron kaming suzuki super carry 1000cc lang yun ha..di talaga manalo sa arangkada yung lite ace sa suzuki namin.

Really? Where in indonesia are you? I presume Jakarta. What are you doing there? Where do you drive around?

naka 140kph na ako sa liteace..
hmmm..
madalas 120-130kph..

according sa manual or brochure 140 ang top speed niyang, 120 lang ang nasubukan ko w/ aircon. Kaya niyang umakyat ng Baguio. siguraduhin mo lang na everything is in order. And daming atang Liteace sa Baguio.

110 kph with aircon on at may ibibigay pa. Kaya lang hindi na kaya ng dibdib ko due to the high center of gravity.
