why dilapidated cars should stay off the roads

i was driving two car lengths behind this old van when its left rear wheel and tire suddenly detaches from the axle for no apparent reason (wala namang lubak or anything on the road). the tire rolled quickly into the opposite lane (startling the jeepney driver in front of me and the driver of a car in the opposite lane) for a few dozen meters, jumps the curb, rolls on the sidewalk for another few dozen meters, then hops back onto the road and continued to roll out of sight.

good thing the tire didn't hit any vehicle or person, but still, it's not hard to imagine what an incredible accident could have resulted. and what if the wheel of this clunker chose to declare its independence on the highway??

ah parang yung nangyari sa ken weeks before. ganyan den. i was on the other side of the road when the whole tire of the kia pride on my left detached itself from the car. kakadisgrasya talaga pag ganyan.

Muntik na rin akong matanggalan ng gulong sa coastal. Bayaw ko nagkabit ng gulong matapos ipavulcanize. Akalain mo, hand tight lang ang lug nuts at nakalimutan gamitan ng wrench. Mula noon hindi na ako nagtitiwala kahit kanino.

nung weekend, isang mitsubishi adventure naman yung tinamaan sa ilalim ng kung anong disk (hindi ko sure, bsta parang sa gulong galing e) na natanggal galing sa isang 10-wheeler truck sa may amin, opposite lanes sila. tingin ko nga bakal e, kasi lakas ng tunog nung tumama sa ilalim nung adventure. hindi naman natanggal yung gulong nung truck, buti na lang, kundi mas malaking disgrasya yun, loaded pa naman yung truck

yung instructor ko dati, going north, yung ten wheeler going south pabalik manila, opposite lane, natangal yung differential ng truck, gumulong sa isla, papunta sa opposite lane, tas sakto na harap na nya ang differential, wala chance makailag, ayun, total wreck yung kotse nya, dahil sa killer differential

imho, its the responsibility of the driver and the owner of the vehicle to keep his vehicle in tip top condition before going out of the road, for his safety and for the safety of the people that he will encounter while on the road.

the bad thing here is some people are really irresponsible. dun, wala na tayong magagawa.
