Box type is a good choice, tamang old school ka dyan sir. Kaya lang don't you think it is too old for you to spend money on accessories. Baka di na kasi tumagal ang body ng box type na sinasabi mo. Sayang lang ang setup mo. Just an opinion.
Look for a newer car 95' perhaps. Since your choice ranges 87-95.

If for everyday use go for the latest model you can afford. Pero kung pang weekend lang or project car, puwedeng luma basta ok pa ang chassis. All the rest puwedeng repair/palitan pero magastos. Well kaya nga project eh...

Ok lang naman if gastusan mo to restore it. Pero its not worth investing so much money on an old car unless you really love it.
Yung money for mods can be used to buy a newer vehicle siguro.

Spending that much on an old Lancer (even its a classic and reliable vehicle) won't give you good returns anymore... unless you just want to keep it and you really love that model. IMHO, a AE92 Corolla might be more feasible for a project car that you want to double as a practical daily driver.
