My car recommends 91 octane too...but i fill up 93 since there's no 91 available. We can be sure that Porsche knows about all this and approves the use of U.S. 91 octane fuel in the Cayenne engine.

So ano ba difference ng "VTEC-3" sa VTEC? Maybe its just a marketing gimmick on honda's part.Originally Posted by Supierreman
i'm thinking may be what they brought in here is a different engine na 3 stage vtec. maybe its tuned for fuel economy but i doubt it if it has the same Hp rating as the 1.7L
Same thing with what happened to the EK VTi (96-00) it was supposedly 127hp but it turns out the engine isnt the same with the D16 127Hp in other markets. The local VTi has the head of the lesser Hp VTEC-E engine
The QR25 was ORIGINALLY supposed to be 185bhp.
They retracted that in the US market because emissions and installation complcations limited it to 180. In some installations, it's 160bhp.
And the B16A really IS 120whp. It's the japanese ECU equipped version that gets over 140whp.
Actually, our numbers are RON (research octane numbers), not Test Octane. Mas mababa yung TON for the same gas.
mazdamazda,
meron ka link nung russian site saying it's vtec3 same as the local civic? pahingi naman ipost ko to sa HCP :D
I've seen the russian Honda site and the 1.6Vtec is only 110hp http://www.honda.co.ru/catalog/avto/civic_4d/tech.html
pansin ko rin yung discrepancy. i think the familia was adverstised as 110/112 hp although research shows na 105 lang ang sa ibang countries. although napansin ko usually iba ang max hp/rpm figures nya. sample uli yung sa familia, it was advertised as 112 hp/6500 rpm. yung mga nakita ko sa net ay 105 hp/ 6000 (or 5500) rpm. i was thinking maybe it was tuned in way that the extra 500 (or 1000) rpm could generate the 7 hp difference. im no car expert though. hula ko lang. hehehe. you might want to check the max rpm of the other 'dubious' ratings.
As for the Familia... medyo magulo yan... lalo na yung B6 engine. Maraming variant the B6 engine kasi... may B6T, B6D, SOHC B6, B6-2E, B6ZE, B6F.
Mag. See for yourselves! Kabaliktaran ng HP wars. Or they just suck at marketing? haha.

Confirm ko lang... Honda Civic SIR (Local B16a) Nde po 160hp? kundi.. 140hp? or 120hp?
Conservative ratings. Manufacturers often don't claim very much in terms of acceleration testing. Helps keep insurance ratings overseas lower... (as if).
According to local dyno-testing, a stock Forester 2.5XT puts out about 150+ hp at the wheels on a dynojet... about 20 down on a stock Subaru WRX (non-STI). Just right for a vehicle with heavier wheels and drivetrain, and an AT instead of an MT... thus, spot on for its 235 bhp rating.
Stock SiRs dyno at 135whp, which indicates around 160-170bhp.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
