Google is your friend. The Internet is full of information, some reliable, some not. www.club4ag.com has lots of info on the 4A-GE versions available.

Ok rin sana kung irebuild yung makina regardless, but that will turn out to be almost twice the price.

for 57k, ok na yun. kasi aftermarket parts na ipapalit, plus complete wiring and airdon pa. when i had my engine swap done before, i was charged around 20-25k for install, wiring and aircon. wala pang palit mga misc parts like clutch, timing belt, tensioner bearings, etc. so i think this is a good deal. ano name ng shop sa cainta?

bakit ang 4age 20v silvertop ni takumi totoo bang max rev*11,000rpm??? skeptical ako kung do-able in the real world yun,e...

anu mas mahal at mas powerful,at mas madaling i-set-up?, silver/black-top

1.6L lang naman nga to, right??and

pit it against to sr16ve, anu parin mas practical in our country?if fully modded, alin parin malakas sa 2(4age 20v or sr16ve)

Especially since it's closer. Most of the small, niggles with engine-swaps (mostly electrical) show up in the first few months, anyway.

    ------

RE: Takumi's engine... race-built 4AGE... parang yung legendary Formula Atlantic motor. Mahal nga lang ang motor... costs as much as a car! But some people rebuild plain old 4AGEs with Atlantic parts.

    -----

RE: Silver/Black-Top. The Black top makes a little more power, but it's not that big a difference, personally, for the price. The black cover is more impressive, though, if people know what it is.

Against the SR16VE, hard to say. Wala masyadong naka SR16 sa atin, as it's so rare. The regular SR16VE is just about a match for this motor, but the SR16VE N1 is a lot more powerful... and even rarer.

Kaya lang, sobrang high strung na yung N1. I prefer the SR20VE, which has more useable midrange torque, and nearly as much top-end power... or the SR20DET. (Super-Off-Topic).

    -----

RE: GrupoToyota: track day nanaman tayo!!! Wahahaha...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

so, ung kay takumi, pwede magawa sa real world...if you have cash to burn on a 4age....

    anu special sa black-top, 20v w/ vvt?

OT>hinahanap ko dito sa online kasi ung local seller ng sr16ve->ble top na may MEO-VVL na nakasulat, most likely di nga N1 yun->197hp on a 1.6L lang!, kumpleto (no putol harness) w/ 5manual tranny, w/ tach from a accidented pulsar,e...tatawagan ko sana, di ko makita ad nya,e...baka nabili na agad....

it's special yata because it's the last variance of the 4AG engine.

bossing... medyo mahal ata yang napupusuan mong engine... first you need to know, what kind of 4AGE do you want? merong 16valve na tinatawag na hi-horse (medyo luma na to year 92) that now goes around 28k without tranny kasi mahirap na makahanap. ang madami ngayon e yung ST (silvertop), you can get one as low as 20k (meron sa grupotoyota nagbebenta ng ganyang price), at yung pinakalatest model is yung BT (blacktop). Both ST and BT are 20 valves VVTi. with ST, it has an AFM that is very sensitive so better have a very good installer and electirician. you can get a fresh BT sometimes as low as 35k na lang (pero AT yung tranny), 40-45k pag manual tranny. Usual singil for the wiring starts at 10k, on the average nasa 12-15k.

one very good installer i know personally is revfactor of grupotoyota. his shop TFactory is near Ynares complex sa antipolo. so kung malapit ka dun, mas maganda dun ka na lang. another one highly recommended is autotech (shagee is the name). they take pride that they can do the transplant in one day. mas mahal ng onti ang singil sa pag wiring nila kasi, unlike other installers, they make sure (as in guarantee) that they will make all needed sensors to be working. lalo na pag ST yan, all the sensors should be working perfectly otherwise... isa pang magaling mag-install are ogip and she of GT pa rin pero sa cavite na kasi sila so malayo na sa iyo ito sobra.

57000... medyo tama lang. hindi sya mura kahit isama mo pa aircon. ganito computation nyan.... engine (consider an ST costs about 22k) + wiring and installation (12k - 15k) + aircon (5k) = 40-45k lang. di mo na kailangan ng TRD racing clutch, di ka naman nangangarera e. kung pwede pa yung clutch nung kasama ng engine, ok na yun. or bili ka na lang ng bago na pang AGE. tataka ako bakit hindi ka binigyan ng details ng costs. kasi since carb ka dati, you would need to have an chambered EFI tank otherwise magkakaroon ng starvation pag below 1/4 na gas level mo tapos bigla ka nagbrakes. you also need to upgrade your fuel lines, fuel pump. you may also need to upgrade your exhaust pipes to at least 2", pero that can come later na. so in all... budget ka ng 60k siguro.

advice ko lang, when you ask, ask for the details ng mga gagawin. mahirap mapasubo sa ganyan kasi. doing an engine swap is not just taking the old engine out and putting the engine in. marami ka pang babaguhin na kailangan gawin para tumakbo ng maayos. so I would suggest to ask around again for inputs. :D

tanong ka sa www.grupotoyota.com.ph/board dami makakatulong sayo. :D

I chose to put in in both vehicles 4AGE 16 valve hi horse engines. mas useful kasi sken yung torque at lower rpm range. yung ST and BT kasi, to get a good torque, parang B16 din yan, you need to rev higher. ako kasi i usually shift at 3k-4k rpm lang, 5k-6k pag in the mood for some hataw.

if you need to have a detailed list of costs sa transplant, nasa akin pa ata yung spreadsheet ko ng gastos e. hehehe.

what do you need to know sir? well if you would be comparing it to 5k engine... it's definitely a better engine. even to a 7k. we used the stock tranny of 2C and fabricated a bellhousing to match it with the engine.
my pasaway brother was able to drive it at 130kph with the fx overloaded with 15 adults and kids. pero that is NOT adviseable. pero kaya kung sa kaya.

    some pics are here... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2484216

pero on a hindsight, i should have put in a 3SGE instead. iba pa rin ang bigger displacement.

ooopss. sorry for the OT again.

you gave me idea a! 4age, saan kayo nagpa-fabricate ng housing?

or baka 4agze nalang para "power all the way" keep ko parin yung 4wd system pero palit m/t na,e...and i dont think a 3sge/gte will fit in the engine bay of my liteace.

    thanx!

A lot of people did it already sa FX....

    Here's mine.... (done Feb 2006) http://perfectlynerd.com/Engine%20Swap/

....fastest I've gone so far? Way over my speedometer... :D basta, i was at 7000rpm *4th gear (ratio 1:1) ~ when computed with my 4.3:1 diff ratio and tire size, that should be around 180km/h already...

I've seen some engine swap/installation by Blacksheep... malinis ang gawa nila. Nagpalit ng 4th gen 3s-gte (done by Blacksheep) - I bought the 4age from him.

halu ess.

    *alwayz_yummy...
sir for your inquiry, the following shops/people who can do the conversions for you. very highly recommended.

autotech (shagee)... 4043594 located in manila (quirino ave)
TFactory (tats)... 6300460 located in antipolo (near ynares complex)
ogip (remy)... 09204246056 located in imus cavite

however, i wouldn't recommend installing an ST or a BT in your liteace. mas maganda pa rin if you can get a 4AGE hi horse, if you could get a TVIS much better. remember, ST and BT work in a higher RPM range for their optimum torque. that wouldn't be helpful if you're after fuel consumption. aside from that, the placement of the distributor in a HH is better as it wouldn't require cutting thru the firewall in your engine bay.

below is a detailed list of expenditures i had for my FX conversion. please note that it didn't include the cost of the engine. items may vary depending on the requirements of your convertion.

    QTY ITEMS COSTS
    1 torco 130
    2 engine support 320
    1 pilot bearing 6001 100
    1 release bearing 570
    1 clutch disc 1100
    1 fuel filter(japan) 550
    3 gear oil 315
    10 fuel hose clamp 150
    10 5/16 fuel hose 250
    2 Spray paint 260
    1 fuel pump 850
    1 radiator fan 800
    1 circuit opening relay 350
    4 nuts & bolt for prop 28
    1 radiator. hose 230
    4 clip 1 3/4 40
    4 clip 3/4 24
    1 radiator conversion 500
    Intank gasoline 700
    gasoline exp 153
    1 slave clutch assy 350
    1 brake hose 180
    2 engine oil 200
    1 PS steering fluid(ATF) 130
    1 Headers 2800
    1 asbestos gasket 50
    1 exhaust gasket 70
    1 speedometer cable 250
