how to determine if loss compression?

gud pm mga sir! ask ko lang po kung ano ang best way to check kung malapit na mag lose compression ang engine? if may sira na sa piston ring and kelangan na i-overhaul? aside from the compression check na gadget, pano po malalaman kung may sira na ang piston ring? may accuracy din po ba sa pagcheck ng oil na sumisirit sa oil cap sa cylinder head (kapag tinanggal ung cap?) Please advise.

Your best bet is to take it to the dealer and have them do a compression test; they will know the accepted values for your year and model.

Otherwise, you can search online for the values, and compare them to what you get from testing. Alternately, you can just test all your cylinders and compare the numbers (it's usually quite rare that all cylinders will have loss of compression without the engine failing completely). If there is an offending cylinder, you should be able to spot it easily.
