I am contemplating on getting an F150, being a truck and all, could you give me inputs such as:

current prices of 2nd hand f150, preferably the lariat
gas consumption
maintenance
tips before buying.

lariat fuel consumption is averages 4km/l.
the best i got was about 4.5 highway.. i think the 4x2 makes 5-6km/l..

parts and maintenance..syempre mahal din..P6.5K ata nagastos ko last time i had it serviced sa ford...

just make sure the transmission is smooth and the aircon works..also that the brakes work without any noise.. mahal kasi magpagawa ehehee

btw bought mine early 99 & sold later part of 02 ..

we get 4-4.5 max sa lariat namin...

2000 model pero wala pa namang nagiging problem kundi ang aircon and the bearings..mejo madugo ang bearing nito...6 thou daw sabi ng dad ko..bearing sa gulong ha...

sold mine in march of this year. 4 to 5 kms per liter lang. every 5000kms service, minimum of 10,000 pesos.

am now driving a 1997 pajero and building a house with the money i save from the gas and maintennace. (hindi ito exag kasi maliit lang naman ang bahay ko, tapos dinaan pa sa pagibig, ten years to pay )

I travel about 300 kms a week.



fuel: f150: P 1700; pajero: P 850

one year savings = 44,200

5000kms checkup: 3 times a year: ford = 10,000 pesos; mitsu: = 2000 pesos (mlaki na nga yan)

savings per year = 24,000

total savings = 68,000

di pa yan kasama ang mga non-routine repairs. diyan ka rin tatamaan.

i estimate about 80 to 100,000 ang savings ko per year by selling my F150. ubos nga ang pogi points, pero ok naman ang pajero na local ko.

in fairness naman to the F150, i slapped on 33 inch mud terrains and it went whereever i wanted it to go. red na red pa ang kulay, so sobrang pogi points.

di ko lang talaga ma-afford.

kung tumama ako ng lotto, bibili ako ng 4x4 na supercrew. tapos 6 inch lift, 4.56 gears, 16x10 rims and 35 inch tires!!!!!

di naman masyado magastos ford basta maintain mo lang... konting sira pagawa mo agad wag sa casa mahal talaga.... 4-5 km/liter consumption k na man ride no problem
