You may have gotten it from your car matting, parang "carpet-type" siguro matting niyo, not the plastic or rubber type, tapos malamig ang a/c
just a theory
ako ang lakas last friday.
nakababad yung oto ko sa araw pero nakatakip ng car cover. tapos aalis kami ng family ko so tinanggal ko yung cover tapos sabay hawak sa steel gate ng house namin. nanginig ako sa lakas ng static eh. i guess i got it from the cover.
I experience that phenom when i use my sis' SX10 Rav4. I also used to get that with my Civic Hatch.
Dun sa Rav4 ko and Pajero wala naman. Its prolly caused by our big arses' rubbing against fabric seats. What i do is i touch the window glass with the back of my hand to discharge any pent up static e. Fingertip contact is sometimes painful.
sir hybrid,
ur right.carpet type nga yung matting ng starex van namin.pati yung seats, fabric seatcovers din. ders a connection nga cguro.maybe kaya sa pajero namin na leather seats n non-carpet type mat, mas mahina yung "zap." but i noticed na i dont feel anything pag cars lang dala ko (i made a mistake in my earlier terminology), sa van n suv ko ramdam talaga.
sir pajerokid,
so i just touch d glass n i wont feel d zap na wen i close d door?how do i do this?while going down from my seat n at d same time touching d glass til both my feet r on d ground?or just touch d glass b4 i go down n dats it?tnx in adv :D
I usually feel the static discharge when i close the door after i egress. Mukha nga akong abnormal e. :D This is what i do. I get out. then i touch the glass (or any metal part). Thats it :D
Hmmm... I've read from other forums that those static discharge are dangerous especially when re-fuelling at the gasoline station. There are cases that fuels ignite due to those static discharge. That's why it's advisable not to leave your car and just stay inside when re-fuelling.
i always do, maybe from coming out from a cold temp to a warmer environment or vice versa....during the part of early fall, winter and late spring that usually happens...but during summer not really.
peace out ya all

carpet is the most common culprit... ako malakas mag conduct ng static ang katawan ko, whether sa car, sa office, or anywhere... nagugulat minsan yung mga hinahawakan ko dahil ang lakas daw
