Do you mean the engine's redline? Check the tachometer (rpm gauge). Where the lines and numbers first turn red is the redline.

Just shift it at redline.
Some vehicles have a rev-limiter (cut off) that is higher than the redline (by a few hundred rpms). But it's not worth the risk of damage to your engine.

ayun.. okay po! salamat.. teka may isa pa po akong tanong ... asa nlex ako nito eh.. tapos 3rd gear*6k rpm shifting nako to 4th gear.. ang nangyari.. parang automatic.. ung pagshift parang naging mabagal.. nangyari tumaas muna rpm ko.. bago bumaba.. ano kaya un? dumudulas kaya yung clutch?
Baka hindi mo lang nabitawan agad yung clutch.

haha sure po ako nun bitaw agad ung clutch coz may hinahabol ako nun eh.. ang nangyari.. mulang 6krpm pag shift to 4th gear tumaas muna ng 7k tapos 7.5k tapos bigla nang bumama.. pero otep sure ako.. bitaw agad ako sa clutch!Ü

On most economy cars, the peak torque is * low end... Excluding Honda's VTEC that has the peak power on the top (yet Honda's are still considered as economy cars)...
right point to shift gears? You gotta know where your power band is and it's range... Powerband = the range within your RPM the torque is at its highest peak...
Looking at the graph above (boosted B18C1), the range of the powerband is from 5500 - 8000 rpm... that means you'll have to stay up there and keep from falling out in order to keep on pulling... In this case you shift by the end of the powerband (* 8000 rpm) and figure out how to land after 5500 rpm...
while on this other graph (corvette's), you can see that the peak torque is at low end, the power decreases after 5800 rpm which makes it unnecessary to rev the shyt out of it...
oh eah, kelangan mo nga pala ng magpa-dyno to determine your powerbandor look on the net for a stock dyno lancer dyno graph...
Mahirap maghanap ng dyno chart ng stock Lancer. Who dynos stock Lancers anyway? hehehe.
But as per manufacturer specs, medyo peaky ang peak torque niya (not far from peak horsepower). O nasanay lang ako sa diesel with peak torque at 2000rpm?![]()
