Kung talagang hanggang 200K lang budget mo, I've been seeing some 94 or 95 Lancer GLXi's (itlogs) that go for 200K.
Sayang nahuli ka, yung isang opismate ko '95 GLXi Lancer binenta nya for 195K, ganda pa, bone stock, bumili kasi ng Adventure.

i think for that price newest car you can get is a mazda 323 2nd gen (1997 or so). all power ka pa. it's not a bad car, i know several people with one, and the parts price is reasonable.
that, or an AE101. unfortunately for that price you probably will get a 1.3XL or 1.3XE -- no-power ka! (except power steering on one of them) wala masyado akong nakitang GLi na AE101 for <200k.

this is a very good resource to do your shopping. I used it to do research so you know the price range of the car you want. You can cut-and-paste from IE to Excel, and do your math. If you see a car whose price is way too far from the average, be very suspicious...
BTW for that price you can also get a 1992 Corona, or 93-95 Altima or Mazda 626. I got my 626 for 160k (although it has a pernicious though minor engine problem which will probably cost me a lot of money to get rid of..)

personally i like the styling of the gen2 more as the round curves looks more appealing to me (biased ba?). for the gen2 the "glx" has the highest trim level. for the gen2.5 it is called the "glxi". it has foglights, 4W ABS, 10 disc cd changer, 3rd brake light, power everything (cept antenna), 6 way adjustable driver's seat, 60/40 split rear seats.
parts price is reasonable and isn't hard to find. mileage is around 7-8 km/L for the manual and around 5-6 for the matic (city driving).
plus you get the chance to join one of the country's best automotive groups... :D
