Break-In Period?

How long is this supposed to be for a brand new car? Is it in days/weeks? Or is it in kilometers or both?
What should be the maximum speed during this period, and how should the car be handled?
Sage advise would be very much appreciated.

for me , i tried to keep it below 4.5k or even 4k (lumampas din ako 1 or 2 times umabot ata ng 5k)and less than 130kph(lumampas din ako 1 or 2 times haha) for the 1st 1000tkm pero some say wala naman daw break in na.
