October 25th, 2007 07:31 PM #1Karamihan sa Vans at entry-level MPV's ay isa lang ang airbag. Ang tanong, bakit sa driver's side ito nakalagay samantalang older studies I know of show na mas delikado yung sa passenger's side?!

Just me guessing here..Since theres only 1 airbag installed...The probability of someone sitting on the passenger side compared to the driver is far less. 100% lagi may driver..passenger...maybe 75% of the time?? Does it make sense.

October 25th, 2007 09:47 PM #4isnt it because your face is closer to the steering wheel than a passengers face is to the dash board?so then you will need the airbag to prevent you from hitting the steering wheel. while the seat belt on the passenger side will have prevented you from moving forward all the way to the dash board.. hmmmmm... just my thoughts....

Manufacturer assuming that driver is always at risk whenever the car moved. Passenger can use seat belt to prevent ejecting to the dahboard and windshield. Most today's car are equiped with driver and passenger side airbags including side curtain airbags.

...because the driver's seat is the most occupied seat in the vehicle.

if you bought a car na may single-driver-side airbag lang then that means you're a "can afford" lang and most likely will be driving it yourself. So mas madalas kang behind the wheel
but if you are a "really can afford", then malamang yung budget mo is enough to buy you a really nice car with the proper number of airbags and will most likely even afford to have a driver hehe
Methinks the Battle of Carthage scene in Russel Crowe's Gladiator (yr. 2000) is a homage to that...
