The Exalta has two. The millenium Starex van has four. The Lancer has two. I don't know about the Altis.

Are the backing sensors on sale in car accessories shops as good as the OEMs? Would you (experienced owners) advise others to have a set installed in their own vehicles? Just curious if these are really useful.

    Thanks in advance.

Backing sensors are good as the OEM as long as there aren't any obstruction to the "eye sensor".

I haven't heard any news that they put it on sale, but one thing for sure they have price wars at it in banawe.

These little sensors might help in a sticky situations and close nit parking spaces. Indicating how far your rear to an obstruction.

Regarding the quality of the aftermarket sensors compared to the OEMs I am not sure. Pero I'm sure that it really helps in very tight situations when you back up. I had a pair of sensors installed at the back of my Strada sa Banawe. Binutasan rear stainless steel bumper at salpak sila. It gave me more confidence when I back-up. It's a good aftermarket accessory to those who are always on the tight spots. :D

The OEM backing sensor on our Expedition seems to work better than the sensors we bought at Banawe for the Montero and LC II.

As an alternative to sensors, I have this panoramic
mirror installed on my rear windshield. Its just a plastic
thing which clings to the glass just like tint. Costs
about 300 bucks at Concorde Megamall and it's
    made in germany.
    Effective
din dahil you can see even below at the level of
    the bumper.

Mga 3,000 po ang cost ng back-up sensors ko kasama kabit at Y2K ang brand. Sir Doc Diesel pwede din po sa Adventure. Nagpakabit ako sa Ginza. Pulido ang trabaho at mukhang OEM. Nasiraan sila 2 drill bit o get it done. He..he. The cheapest na nakita ko ay 1,800 sa tabi ng Sprint at the most expensive ay 8,000 sa casa. Merong idinidikit lang ng double tape (para sa takot sa butas) at syempre like me butas. Most are made in Taiwan.:D

    Doc Diesel,

Almost Php 3K yata. Yung display niya is via bar graph. We just hung ours above the rear glass para kita sa rear view mirror.

help! need advice on this.. i posted this sa AUV section. guess this is more apt..

anyway, do you guys know of any shop in particular who can do this? or at least can anyone give me advice on the possibility of putting in a back-up sensor on a 2004 Accord?

    thanks in advance!

The Altis has 6 sensors: 4 corner sensors (Front Right/Left and Rear R/L) and 2 backing sensors. There are 5 indicating lamps: Fr Right, Fr Left, Rear Right, Rear Left and Rear Center. The buzzer intensity increases as you approach the obstacle/barrier.

Nakakanibago sa unang gamit. After a while, nakakatulong sa pag tantya ng distance ng mga obstacles sa sides, front and rear.

Walang problema sa Accor ang backing sensor. It is not an exotic car. Wiring is not really that different from other Honda models (and Japanese vehicles).

For a backing sensor you need only tap the switch that triggers the back up lamps to light.

Or if you're really simplifying things, you can even tap the reverse lamp wire as the 'trigger' to let the sensor know you are in reverse.

I'm not sure if you need to tap into another wire for a power source. A 'hot' wire (e.g. from the sound system) will usually suffice. Most installers in Banawe know how to go about with this.

I would recommend Jaffas (a bit pricey but with a good electrician) or Winterpine (supplies accessories to most dealerships).
