is it true that auctioned vehicles don't have parts available locally???

di ba usually their only main difference with locally assembled vehicles e yung pagiging RHD nila? kasi, yung friend ko bought a 3-door pajero and RVR sa valenzuela. yung RVR needs replacement of the timing belts ngayon... they said they need to get it sa hongkong pa daw? yung RVR understandable kasi walang model na ganyan na locally assembled dito... but how about the pajero? will the parts available here fit in their pajero?

kung hindi... why then do they keep on bringing such vehicles here kahit alam naman nilang walang replacement parts para dun?
