October 4th, 2007 10:20 PM #1Good evening.
My ride is Mitsubishi SS. thanks!

Mas maganda i-drain mo muna then palitan ng bagong ATF. ATF comes in different classifications (Dextron II, III, etc.), kaya check the car's manual or do some research on Google to determine the right kind of ATF for your tranny. In most cars, the recommended ATF is etched on the ATF disp stick itself.

about sa automatic ba kamo?

ang tanong is bakit mo ba nilagyan ng ATF? below na minimum na ba or madumi na yung atf sa loob ng tranny? either way, mas recommended na i drain muna yung old atf before putting new one. para naman ndi sayang yung per mo. and make sure na ndi sobra or kulang ang atf sa tranny. yung tama lang. some cars require that you check the atf level on normal running temperature.
also very important is yung type ng atf na ilalagay mo sa kotse. may kanya kanyang requirement kasi bawat brand ng kotse. merong dexron-II, dexron-II, mercon __ etc. kung wala kang owners manual (which is tha case for most of the 2nd hand car owners), try to search the net for the manual just to make sure you are doing the right things.
basa basa ka lang about cars and sooner maaintidihan mo yung basics. gud luck!

kung di mo d-drain--overfill ka noh! bad for your at(see pinned thread...)

October 5th, 2007 03:52 PM #8Most cars, you check the ATF by running the car until it reaches normal operating temp. Put the gear shift in P and hold for a few seconds. Shift the R hold, N hold, until you reach the final gear. Keep car idling, open hood and pull AT dipstick. Wipe on clean rag. Reinsert and pull out. Check ATF level. Should be between low and full. Note color, should be red, if very dark brown or black, it needs replacement. Smell the ATF, if it smells burnt, replace.
Dexron III can replace Dexron II, its backwards compatible. Read the label on your ATF, some fluids can be used for cars needing Dexron or Mercon.
Again, read theveed's primer on ATF. The pinned thread. Its very informative.

Bossing, ATF is an all or nothing thing.
ATF is something na-pinapalitan at regular intervals. As in drain and replace.
Di ko ma-gets why you need to top-up. Malamang may leak dyan. Usually gasket lang yan.
Dalhin mo kay boss speedyfix para you don't need to go to the stealer, este dealer...
Speedyfix fixed up my Accord good.
