Para siyang Caterham Super 7. Another derivative of the Lotus 7.

Ang ganda ng promo girl. Hindi ko napansin yung sasakyan.

ibang klase talaga ang fun factor ng mga ganyang kit cars. i've downloaded dozens of videos of westfield. ganda ng tunog at kitang kita mo yung tremendous acceleration! semi-automatic pa sya so kadyot ka lang ng kadyot sa gear stick! meron nga mga nagmodify twin-bike engine at meron pa nakapagsalpak ng v8!

last year, i talked to the person responsible for bringing in the westfield. when he visited the hq daw of westfield in uk, he was given a test drive in the low end westfields and a ride in the top end (not the xtr). super impressed sya dun sa una ang bilis daw! great handling and acceleration!

pero nung pinasakay sya dun sa megabusa, nagtaka daw sya at pinasuot sya nung goggles na parang pang mga WWII pilots. natawa daw sya dahil muka silang ewan. pero when the he hopped in and went to the open country road, hinataw daw nung test driver.. he was literally pinned to the backseat tapos nahirapan daw sya huminga sa sobrang bilis ng acceleration! mas mabilis pa daw yung pag-upshift kesa dun sa breathing nya hahaha! pagstop nila, may mga daw bug na kumapit sa goggles nya. (para dun pala yun hehehe)

I know someone who is already considering seeling his Evo to buy a Megablade since mahilig siya sa mga track days and the Wesite will offer a totally different experience, on a totally higher plane of accessible performance.

Know anyone who has a Westfield?

You folks think our local jeep assemblers could make a westfield competitor?

staring price is around 850K - 1.6L Mazda engine yata yun.

pero drivability in our streets is a big issue kahit na road-legal ang status nya. for one, sobrang baba nya (para kang nasa go-kart) halos hindi ka na makita ng ibang drivers. then yung suspension nya... mararamdaman mo lahat ng irregularities - sabi nga sa isang review kahit upos na sigarilyo ramdam.

IMO - our backyard assemblers can't do it. why? because interests for doing track days (hence those specialized track-day only vehicles) is very minimal in our country - hence there would be minimal input from r&d and testing. we may have those crazy owner-type jeeps sporting k20 engines in drag races, but am sure it'll piss in fear when a corner comes up.

Get Ron Champion's book from Amazon (Build Your Own Sports Car).

Am in the process of making one (give me a year or two to finish). Auto_Xer and I have been talking about it, and it should cost about P200k. P150k kaya if done on the super cheap, but more likely P250k. Obviously, you put in more performance parts, then prices escalates.

Engine I'm planning to use is a Toyota 4AGE.

I already have complete plans of the space frame chassis (note: book has errors), and now looking for a local welder I can consign to job to.

Problem with book is that it assumes an Escort donor (plentiful in the UK). And even in the "Locost" builders forum (http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk), most are now using a Sierra. So, finding a donor car here is a bit harder -- but there have been lots of builders who have used a 4AGE and T50 tranny, so the support group is good.

And yes, kung umulan, basa ka talaga. Or you could do this version done by a certain Erwin Dekkers:

    http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7630/tripto.html

There are others who have done a soft-top and hard-top -- but as others have said, you're just turning the car into a "noise box".

Creature comforts do NOT come with this type of car.

The book is only used as a guideline... you can deviate from it as much as you like. The more you deviate, the more you're on your own. If you want it built fast, try to follow the book as much as possible. If you're handy with tools, and know a lot about cars in general, especially fiberglassing or sheet metal working, you can make the body any way you like.

Some have made the chassis longer and wider (and some have even made four seaters). So, the book is only a guide, and the rest is up to you.
