    posted at TR's site:

180kph startoll yesterday around 1800, hana was pretty cool about it till she looked out her window and kinda panicked when she saw how fast things were passing by so had to slow down to 140-160 lest my arm losses consciousness (she was gripping it tightly) - with a mzda3 2R

with the cars of today and a straight highway in good condition, is 180 kph that big a deal these days?

given enough road (usually US I-95 from NY to Florida or the I-5 from north to south california) i've taken a number of vehicles, including a Honda Civic DX and a Chevy minivan up to the equivalent of 180 kph.

also, an interesting thing i noticed - at high speeds speedos seem to be wildly inaccurate. i took my bimmer up against the speed governor (128 mph according to the manual) just to see if i can do it...but the speedo said 139!

you're right, we're just depending on the vehicles, i mean its just easy to floor the gas pedal right? that's one of the reasons why i got into DH racing, 30kph on a 50 deg slope on very rough singletrack trail is scarier than doing high speeds on a stable car

200 km/h indicated speed in a mitsubishi super saloon last 10 years ago binata pako noon kaya malakas ang loob. it took me 21 mins. from c5 kalayaan to calamba exit. ang lambot na ng steering wheel kaya nakakatakot.
