    good day to all!

i am new in this forum (around 2-3hrs of being a member) and would like to seek your help regarding purchase of a second hand vehicle.

i am planning to purchase a vehicle suited to my budget of 250K. basically, the vehicle will be used driving around the city and occassionally, some out of town trips. any honest to goodness advice on what particular model/brand of vehicle suited to my budget?

i appreciate all inputs from you guys.

    regards.

    m/t or a/t?

    Some choices in that range.

    1998 Corolla GLi
    1998 Civic Lxi
    1999-2000 Sentra SS
    2000-2001 Ford Lynx

Suzuki Esteem Wagons are cool [and a bit unique] too. You get a lot more metal for the money.

    I would suggest a Sentra series 3 1998-2000 model.

a newer car would mean less problems than an older one.

    hello once again!
i did some google recently on BUY and Sell magazine and found out the following:

    Nissan Sentra SS 2000 = 280K
    Nissan Sentra SS 1999 = 245K
    Lancer GLXi 1999 = 300K

don't know the market values of different brands and models, perhaps you could help me if these are good buys.

so, for 250K, i could get 98-01 models as posted by vinj?

nissan looks fitted for me, any price range for Nissans?

    good day to everyone!

post another question (sana meron sumagot, hehehe):

    are these good buys?
    -97 Lancer Glxi = 195K (second owner, M/T, 112T kms, pioneer cd
    - 96 Civic vtec = 280K (74T kms, all power)
    - 2000 Sentra Fe Exalta look = 220K (m/t, 15" mags)
    -Exalta 200 = 300K (55T kms)

medyo hirap ako mag-decide, perhaps you could advice on the current market value of these vehicles for sale kung ok na sya.

    thanks in advance!

At that range, medyo may edad na yung mabibili mo so maintenance will be a major concern. I suggest for models na readily (and cheaper) available ang parts para you can keep it fairly reliable for your out of town trips.
City driving so it's up to you to choose between economy (M/T) or convenience (A/T).
Are you planning to do mods?

Looks like a Toyota Corolla is your best bet.

given your budget, sakin simple lang. less than 3 year old - honda or nissan; older than 4 years old - toyota corolla. Reason: maintenance/parts. This is where corolla shines. pero dun sa latest choices na post mo.. my take is on the 2000 Exalta, just make sure there is absolutely nothing to fix, take note of the tires and suspension if/when you test drive it.

nightrider anong model ng NSS nakuha mo at how much? interested din ako sa Nissan, and based on what I read regarding posts here in tsikot, best value for your money ang Nissan.

mahal kaya yung nakita ko na NSS 2000 worth 280K?

Poops, right now sa budget ko, wala muna mods.

i appreciate all of your replies.

thanks NR for your response! you are right bro, very accomodating mga tsikoteers. ive read nga mga threads about nissan, specially yung thread na "why are nissan low in resale value?" kaya nga hindi ako nagmamadali sa pagbili. mahirap na mapahamak. it is better talaga na mag-consult muna sa mga experts or merong mga alam sa sasakyan.

i am looking forward din na makasali sa nissanbayan. sana nissan din mabili ko. pero, i am not closing options for other brands of cars, basta ba maayos ang pagkakagamit at inaalagaan.

sana marami pang magbigay ng inputs about current market prices of the vehicles ive mentioned previously. Ive seen sa buynsell this 98 COROLLA GLi worth 240K and 96 Civic VTEC worth 265K ok na kaya price? pero syempre i still need to see the actual unit kung ok pa.

Onnie: Tama, you have to check it out. We're not talking about new cars here kasi and just because 2 cars have the same year or even mileage doesn't mean they have the same condition.

Basta take your time. Di naman nauubusan ng segunda mano dyan eh hehe
