*My honest review citing all the faults*

With all other variables concluded as this was the high-end for the model; price compared to Fortuner/Montero 2016 base - high-end, the toplandre exec plus is really appealing.

We went ahead and tested the water. Biggest selling point is the US CUMMINS engine, from car shows, magazine and reviews CUMMINS engine is held with high regards.

Now this model is equipped with 7'in Infotainment system that runs android (as in malaki, mapapatingin talaga mga katabi naming SUVs lalo na pag night time city drive). Sound quality is good (IMO personal pref)

Problem encountered with the infotainment touch screen:
*Biglang lumalakas pag umaarangkada, say volume is 5 magiging 10 for (2-4 secs) before returning to 5
Solutions = tweak the EQUALIZER forgot the settings but just tweak it.
*Nag hang siya ng matagal (I think buggy OS) Nag materialized sya with our 10,000km run with it
Solutions = CASA replacement Sta. Rosa sa Chevrolet, they changed it and now comes with upgraded OS. Now fixed included pa sa warranty(waited for 2-3hours intallation)

Were now running on 18,000 - 20,000km, and I'd say, SWABE na sya ngayon.

Engine really good, arangkada? No problem. Kung lakas and hatak, overtaking? I'd rate comparable sa Fortuner / Montero kung baga may laban. He used to drive MIT Adventure GLS sport 2005 (passenger lang ako, and tatay ko pro-driver close to 10+ yrs exp. engine breaking master sa overtaking, and believe me when i say overtaking, he loves overtaking hindi naman kaskasero mararamdaman mo smooth pasok niya, basta)

Travel destination that the unit reached: Quezon - Catanauan - Manila - Bulacan - Vigan - Pagudpud - Isabela - Tuguegarao - Santa Ana Cagayan -

Problem encountered with the engine. (wag kayo kabahan)
*While running, nag leak bigla yung sa ATF fluid, bigla bumigat bute na lang close na kami sa Batangas so diretso sa CASA mileage around 4,000km.
Solutions = In fairness sa FOTON brand i think this was caused after ng 1,000km check siguro mechanics fault ito not tightening the hoses.

Aircon, front seats driver and passenger no problem. It was the placement of the rear aircon that got me a little off (placed on passenger side of the 3rd row). Aircon at rear has Fan Low Mid High (Mid and High settings malakas na ang buga)
Solutions = e set yung vents upward and direction going to drivers seat side.

Were now running on 18,000 - 20,000km, and I'd say malamig siya everytime na bubuksan ko para e greet or kunin ung bagahe nila. Laking lamig dun sa gamit ko na our old Adventure 2005(point of comparison).

Transmission, Clutch, Shifting, Shifter and Brake after driving it for around 40km eco road. From my exp smooth ang response, happy to say no problem pa na na eexp (pedals responsiveness vary by personal taste and preferences). Shifter I'd say comfortable naman while shifting, no hassle sken.

Body build. Lets just leave it at "iba iba naman tayo ng pananaw tungkol kung alin ang quality and medyo cheap feel" so cant rate this.

    Hood pops hydraulically.

    Headlights. No problem.

    This model comes with DRL

Forgot kung ano na Konsumo per run will update pag na check ko.

Sarap pa lagyan ng Top-rack / Top load, pero mahal haha

Conclusion: From a Chinese brand bash all you want pero got to admit, they've come a long way in terms of vehicle manufacturing. Kung magkakatabi ang latest/old model Fortuner, Montero, Everest at Toplander (hindi nagbubuhat ng sariling bangko) may appeal din ang toplander. Parts availability? I think theyre setting up plant somewhere in pampanga, so thats something. These are also assembled here in the PH so that might be something. Theyre Chinese brand weve tested the waters and found it really ok, for the price no pressure kami compare to the high end of other SUVS with almost the same features. sa safety features pa google na lang po. TY

I saw a white one on the way to work... Here are my observations:

    1. The stance is nice! Legit
    2. I thought it was a Trailblazer when I saw its front fascia.
    3. When I made a second look, I thought the rear has some kind of resemblance to the first gen of Fortuner.
    4. Maybe it was the rain, but the paint looked pale (again, it was a white one).

There... I didn't see much as I was driving. It's an intriguing option knowing that it can be had for less than 1M Pesos.
