Does anyone have any feedback on the performance of this model? We are planning to start a business and we are considering this model because it's price is lower compared to Fuso and Canter. Personally, I want to invest on different brands to avoid putting my eggs in one basket in case something goes wrong but our friend has a Foton dealer who can give us a good price and service. Would you put your faith in Foton to run your business?

So you already have a fuso and canter? Why not just get another fuso/canter? Parts will be the same so you keep the same parts inventory (filters, etc), your mechanic knows them already, and they are already well proven. Why gamble on an unproven brand? Parts are readily available locally already, why gamble on whether the dealer has parts on hand? Mamya yan may break down tapos wala palang parts available e di nakatengga yung sasakyan mo.

    agree with yebo above.
... if you have reason to believe that the foton will perform as good as the fuso and canter, and will be easier to maintain.

in truth, i have more faith in an extremely used japanese model than in any brand-new chinese model..

Thanks for the honest feedback. I too have doubts on China brands as very few trucking companies use it. I even have doubts on Korean branded trucks as well. Di naman sales talk but using connections lang. But I can negotiate it with my friend. I just want to have feedback how people perceive and trust China brands to manage their business.

    but we must remember...
in the 50s and early 60s, "made in japan" commanded the same implied quality level as today's "made in china"..
in the late 70s or early 80s, we actually saw a chinese bus with its driveshaft twisted like a drillbit...
but i believe cummins (?) now has china making its engines...
what i am saying is, china is slowly advancing...

i buy china-made hand tools for humdrum jobs.. but i buy made in USA for my precision, hardness, and longevity needs. pikit mata na lang sa presyo..

Made in china cummins mahina. I have 3 china made cummins engines here on our cranes on the rig. Problema pa walang mabiling parts na made in US puro china na talaga.

Super tibay!

Kahit 20+ years pa lumipas di kayang tapatan ng china yang ganyang quality!

Yan din problema naming ngayon. Cummins parts na made in china. Hindi talaga tumatagal.

+1 here. I remembered when my dad told me during his early days, halos wala daw may gusto sa made in japan. Kahit dati nung kabataan natin I never heard about korea quality but now they are one of the best in cars specially in electronics etc... China made is still improving their technologies and soon they can compete with the big boys.

True. But right now, China-made is not of good quality so the TS is better off buying Japan-made vehicles.
Another thing, Chinese mindset is different from the Japanese and even the Koreans. So we don't really know if the trajectory of the Chinese product quality improvement will follow that of the Japanese.
