    Hi Everyone!

Let me open this thread to share an interesting video explaining Ford's DCT shuddering issue. I bought a Ford Focus MK3 2 months ago and I'm interested to know how Ford's 2014 models DCT drives after all these DCT issues posted in the internet. Is it really fixed?

I have not had the chance to drive my car yet cause I live and work abroad and still waiting for vacation. Very Excited to :drive1: !

Anyway, here's the video of Ford's DCT shuddering issue explained.

Please share your thoughts, experience (good or bad) and interesting suggestions about Ford's DCT.

    Thanks!

Its the reliability rather than the shuddering that is my main concern with the Ford DCT. I know several people (me included) who had their DCT breakdown on them in the middle of the road and has to had their cars towed.

    Its a 2011 Fiesta Sport.

Its a long story so I am kinda lazy to recount it all over again. Just head over at FCP (Ford Club Philippines) and look at my post over there and just read through the pages. You need to be registered to view though...

Thanks for sharing Tidus! I read your post and cant imagine how bad your experience was. Tsk tsk.

I just hope this doesn't happen to me or to anyone else. I still have high hopes with DCT cause there are still many who were satisfied on their Ford cars with Dual Clutch.

Test drove the ecosport yesterday, yes it shudders when going out of steep corners, when on traffic and hesitates when you floor it. The delay when downshifting takes ages.

My shuddering went back this year. They replaced my clutch assembly last 2017. Overall I love my car except for the shuderring issue.

If it is still under warranty then it's best to have it checked again. We don't have much options with this issue but to bring it to the casa and hope that they'll be able to fix it without costing us owners with ridiculous expenses.

I received a letter from Ford instructing me to bring my Fiesta to a nearby Ford dealer to have the TCM reprogrammed. I did not bother to go. I have heard so many stories from fellow Fiesta owners who brought their rides for a TCM reprogramming or replacement only for their rides not to drive as well as before. My Fiesta is driving well on a day-to-day basis.

Our Fiesta's TCM broke down 2 years ago. Not much difference after it was replaced, drive experience is still horrible whenever the transmission shudders. I bought a 2018 Mazda3 instead, better zoom zoom experience. I just use the Fiesta for number coding and short trips.

Sakin grabe kasi shuddering lalo na pag mag slow down ako until ful stop. Everything else is okay with me. Its my everyday car. They have reprogrammed my TCM many times before during the warranty period because of this freaking shuddering issue.

We've done that reprogramming even after the TCM was replaced, issue persisted. Mas evident lalo kapag uphill drive, kahit naka activaye na yung mode that reduces the transmission shift interval (that button located at the side of the transmission lever).

I also noticed that shuddering happens a lot after driving the car after an hour. Not much with short trips.

I did notice that the car's tranny feels limp after driving for an extended period in the rush hour traffic (mid afternoon) from Sucat to Balintawak. On the highway though, wala naman issues even driving at high speeds thru NLEX-SCTEX.
