Hi guys, my family just recently purchased a Ford Fiesta Trend sedan AT owner and I was hoping to get some information in preparation for the future (in case of repairs, etc) since I'm considered a newbie when it comes to automobiles. We bought it at Ford Commonwealth in cash with the following discounts and freebies:

    50k cash discount
    23k for insurance with AOG
Free LTO registration for 3 years

    Platinum Magic tint
    Rain gutter/window visor
    seat cover
    1 year era card
    10L gas
    standard matting
Free PMS for 1k (labor and parts) and 10k (labor only)

    1. Is the deal considered a good one?
    2. Based on what I read on the other threads, some dealers are known to be bad at servicing. The nearest Ford service center from my location is in Otis, but I haven't seen anyone around that has had their car serviced there. Is the service good in Otis and are there any other branches that have good services?
    3. Are there already parts available for this model outside the casa, and are the prices for the parts almost the same as those of the Japanese counterparts?
    4. Given the reputation that Ford has, should I be prepared for any broken parts within the next few months or years? The reason I chose this car over other Japanese brands was that the features that came with it, as well as a better looking interior (albeit a smaller legroom and headroom at the back) for me. My friends recommended getting the Vios instead as it is they said that Ford cars have a low fuel economy and the parts for Ford are hard to find, but I still chose this instead. It would be a shame if something bad happened to the car a mere months after purchase and people saying "I told you so."

    Thanks

depende yan kung kaya ng rubbing compound or wax, pakiramdaman mo yung scratch kung malalim o sa top coat lang. yan lang mahirap kapag nakapark sa labas yung sasakayan wala kau peace of mind kasi hindi nyo alam baka me tumata*^nta'o na.

I'm not sure kung top coat lang ang tinamaan or kasama na yung primer.. ang sakit lang sa puso wala pang 3 days nabinyag na ng ganyan....may bantay naman yung area namin na 2 na guardya, pero sinabi raw nila di raw nila nakita sino gumawa...we can't blame them di naman sila robot para 24 hours titigan sasakyan namin..haha

Define medyo magaspang. If you can really "feel" how deep the scratch is, it has gone deep down and you'll be needing a paint touchup. It's not something paint correction can handle (which corrects your clearcoat)

Sir, para sakin kasi di pata ata deep kasi if I run my finger through the gash parang "umbok" siya rather than "lubog". I'm planning on buying the 3M scratch remover and Turtle wax try and see if it works. Or are there any other recommended scratch remover brands?

if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, it's probably too deep for DIY.
from the picture, it looks deep...

sagot yan ng insurance. but there is a "participation fee" that you must fork over. see your insurance contract or call them up and ask how much this is.
from what i see in the picture, the participation fee may be even more expensive than what an independent painter may charge. ask around first.
the metal does not appear to be exposed, and therefore not in danger of rusting. that means, the painter may be able to get away with his lack of professionalism. what i am saying, is that you may be able to get acceptable results with a not-so-thorough (a.k.a. "cheaper" or un-branded) pintor.
but kung sakin yan, i'd go to the car accessories store and get a small bottle of silver touch-up paint and do it myself. who knows, after 2 weeks, you won't mind it at all. naka-mura ka pa ng ilang salapi.. but if you still feel it should be fixed later, than you can have the pintor have at it. you just delayed spending your money by a few weeks..

thanks po....i'll post updates when I get this fixed. Another thing I noticed was that based on the car's internal function, I am only getting 20L/100km. If I compute this to km/L 5 lang kumbaga...is this for real? grabe naman ang baba compared to other subcompacts...reliable ba ang computation niya or would it be better to try using the full tank method?
