    haven't heard of any definite plans from ford when it comes to their sedans. although i've heard of rumors wherein they will just focus on their SUVs and pick-ups...

    mondeo has been discontinued na.
    replacement for it is the Volvo S40/mazda3/Euro Ford Focus (all same platform).

    the US Focus will remain the old platform Focus.

    so strictly speaking, the Focus/Mazda3/Volvo S40 are all possible replacements for the Lynx. although pricewise, i think the Mazda3 is where it's at.
