mahal ang labor cost kung oil seal lang ang papalitan.

are you refering to fan belt instead of timing belt and idler bearing? Fan belt palitan kung meron ng signs of crack.
idler bearing kung maingay na, palitan na din. if it's timing belt, there's a corresponding mileage for replacement.
I change every 100K kms traveled.

This is oil seal for the crankshaft. Depends how many hours gagawin. For some cars kayang dukutin, for some mas matagal. If it's an 8hr job then 2.5-3k is ok kung pulido yung work.

timing belt/bearing: depends sa instructions sa manual mo but definitely before 100k km you need to change those plus your water pump.

Isang side kasi ng makina yan kaya they are suggesting it assuming they are not pulling your leg or anything
