    Hi guys,

I had a 2004 Ford Lynx Ghia A/T, there is a problem the HOLD light is blinking, eventhough its off button, so either press ko siya back and forth ganun padin, blinking parin siya, kaya yung pagshift ng gear ng car ko ay hirap talaga. Sabi daw baka censor lng daw ang sira non kaya nagloloko. So ano po sa tingin niyo mga experts sa ford lynx ang sira ng ganito? Please help..

I have the same problem with my Ford Lynx Ghia AT. The HOLD switch would engage at high speed (120 kph) and the gear would downgrade so the engine would suddenly roar. Cruising at speeds between 80 kph to 100 kph is the ideal speed so that the HOLD switch would not engage. If you go over 110 kph and up, the HOLD switch would blink and suddenly engage. I took it at Ford EDSA to have it checked. The service mechanic informed me that the problem is mechanical and I have to pay P450,000 for a new transmission assembly. WTF the new transmission assembly is worth more than the value of my Lynx. The service advisor (Albert) informed me quietly that he and the mechanic know where they can get a surplus transmission assembly in Banawe for P90,000. All I have to do is call him and he will arrange to pick up my car at my house and take it to a mechanical shop so they can install the surplus part. Anyway, I dont trust any of them. I'll just be careful to keep my speed between 80 kph - 100 kph. If it breaks down, I'll just buy a new car. Kindly inform me if you have found a solution to the HOLD switch problem. Thanks

Hi... aside from the transmission, it could also be like a faulty sensor at the throttle... no harm done if you have it check first before purchasing any components... look for intermittent or inconsistent reading... offered prices seems quite high for your trouble...

Get a quote from another dealership. That sounds like absolute BS. The transmission itself shouldn't cost more than 150-250k. Once you've got the quote, report the guy to his boss.

A secondhand transmission for a Lynx won't cost 90k, either. For that much, you could already buy and swap in an RS engine or even the high-hp Japanese-spec model.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Guys

    I have the same problem

    "Hello,

Need your ideas guys. My Ford Lynx Ghia Automatic tranmission is acting up since last week. While driving i just noticed the HOLD button in the dashboard was blinking then i felt something weird in the engine.

The RPM once it reaches 3000 or once it reaches the 3rd gear, it slipped (parang biglang nag slide yung RPM pataas then bigla babagsak). Kapag paulit ulit na nangyayare yon, then the hold button will appear at yung takbo ng oto sobrang bagal na.

I have it checked sa petron car care center nilinis yung MAF sensor, test drive but same problem. Sabi nila baka inhibitor switch daw. I went to banawe "kingpin shop" they checked ang sabi may problem daw sa 3rd gear ngtranmission. 24K lahat gastos papalitang transmission.

Once of these days i will visit FORD to scan my lynx pero you guys have any ideas?

Lynx is still running okay pero once nag shift na siya sa third gear, the hold button will appear in dashboard then the car run slow.

By the way, 3 weeks ago i replaced the alternator"

Until now im still clueless..i went to ford libis wala daw sila engine scan. So i decided to have it checked sa PETRON kaya lang their scanner did not work with my LYNX, may error connection daw sa ECU - engine control unit. So yung problem ko baka daw sa COMPUTER BOX at hindi transmission...

    Please help.

    Thank you
