March 3rd, 2011 12:19 PM #12Almost all manufacturing here can't compete with other ASEAN countries. Mas mataas talaga cost dito kahit ano mangyari. The only advantage we have is we speak good English. There needs to have government intervention if we want to be competitive with other countries.

High electricity rates+high labor cost+corrupt government officials - I'm surprised that there are still multinationals with plants situated here.

Last edited by eggman; March 3rd, 2011 at 02:50 PM.

Di na kelangan, aalis na nga eh... Truthfully I'd rather stake my money on philippine build quality rather than thai..

Sabagay pati nga hotels dito ang mahal, kaya nakaka turn off sa mga foreingers even us domestic tourist. Kainis

Unlike the Philippines, the Thais have a complete industrial infrastructure. They manufacture the parts in-country, unlike here were everything has to be imported in sub assemblies. That's the difference between a full and a half hearted goverment support.

sana nga lang wag magsara at madadagdagan ang un employed sa pinas...at i'm a proud and happy ford (escape) owner
