    Car:
    Lynx 1.6 AT Ghia
    2000

Problem: Erratic Idle and now ayaw na magstart

A little background. Months before, I experienced low idle that almost made the engine stop.
Until around April, erratic tapos namamatay na talaga sya, lalo pag mainit ang panahon. Pero
nag-i-start naman ulit, erratic idle nga lang. So suspect is IACV.

So end of April, I open the hose going to the throttle body and sprayed carb cleaner,
madumi na nga din ang TB. After cleaning, unstable ang andar and then nawala na

Pero today, ginamit ko ulit papunta office sa The Fort, after 20 minutes of driving,

Suspect din is the cam pos sensor. At yung crankshaft sensor.

    saan located ang crankshaft sensor?
    Pahiram please ng OBD Scanner!

Sounds a lot like cam position sensor or ignition coil. Crank doesn't often go out.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Try cleaning the IACV and MAF sensor (pati socket nito kun maluwag at dapat snug fit)

If you have further questions you can call me 09287618155/7944181.

An OBD2 scanner won't work on the Ford Lynx, since the ECU is only OBDI. A universal OBDII scanner plug will NOT fit the Lynx's diagnostic port. You need the special Ford-only diagnostic socket and an OBDI-compatible scanner. There are a number of shops (Speedlab is one... I think SMT is another) which have this, but I think this point needs to be clarified, otherwise if the thread starter or any other Lynx owners reads the above and seeks to have their car connected to a standard OBDII scanner, they will be sorely disappointed.

BUT... from my experience and other owners, the symptoms are 99% either the cam-position sensor or ignition coils. Most likely cam-position sensor since this is the most common sensor failure on the Lynx.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

+1 on the cam sensor sir niky. We have the same model lynx and kapapalit lang namin ng cam sensor couple of months ago. Same symptoms you stated. Medyo mahirap maghanap specially here sa batangas ng cam sensor. Sa casa 8k with a month or two waiting time.

Best to go Banawe. MazFord carries it for 3.5-4k only.
