Ford Lynx Gas consumption help!

I dun know if ive come to the right place but is lynx gas consumption that bad? I am planning to buy one (2nd hand) for my son cuz of it's low resale value.. but he is only goin to use it on home to school basis (merville to don bosco makati) do you think that his 600 would be good enough for 5 days? cuz ive heard that many were complainin about this lynx's gas consumption yet i kept seein some buy and sell ads sayin that the car that theyre selling which is lynx, is fuel efficient and can drive up to 12kms/liter.. so i need to hear the pro's opinion and advice.. thanks!

The LSi is decent. The GSi and Ghia 1.6 MTs are about average. The 2.0 RS is good on the highway, but, obviously, a bit thirsty in traffic (better than the Civic 2.0 AT from the same time period) and the 1.6 AT versions are pretty bad.
