The Ford GT is back with a vengeance. It recently did 220mph (or slightly more if you pay close attention to the video) in Manila. Sayang the speedometer isn't too clear, but FYI the last digit on the Ford GT's speedo is 220mph. The camera was positioned to show parts of the road to dispel any doubters.

    220mph? that's around 350kph.

wow... that's more than the OFFICIAL Ford GT topspeed recorded in a closed track in Nardo, Italy. poor guys, they only managed 211mph on a dedicated circular high speed track.

and oh... Ford electronically limited the Ford GT to 205mph only.

    teka, baka naman 220kph. :bwahaha:

we have no doubt about the performance of the Ford GT... but 220mph (or more) is already stretching too much.

220 mph at the speedometer? Not too difficult, even performance cars have over-reading speedometers... now proving that as actual road speed (via GPS) would be even better... Not that I doubt that a well-modified Ford GT can do well over 200 mph, but at those speeds, you need a GPS reading!

There's probably a lock coming on here... or a flame war, or both. Not many people take kindly to what is obviously a gross flaunting of our speed laws... in broad daylight, to boot.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

is it really in manila? coz if you look closely at the first few seconds, the cars on the other side are heading the wrong direction if its in manila.

I've reviewed the video several times, the increments per line in the speedo is 20mph last line is 220mph. This guy did more than 220mph, more like 225mph w/c in km would be 362 kph. This is nothing of ordinary but serious achievement. I can only dream.

Except that speedos lie. And if my personal experience driving a GT is any indication, it's by quite a lot. (Speedometer said 90, radar said 75). Still, the run was impressive (near 200 is nothing to be sniffed at), especially since it was in Manila.

Ford GT does 220mph
