I think ganyan din yung sa akin during the first month or so, around 8-9km/L before it gradually improved after the first 1000kms PMS.
Before 1000km, I did notice my idle around just past 1k rpm (1100-1200rpm) but well below 1500rpm. My FC was around 7.5 km/L back then. Right now, it idles around 1k rpm but not lower. They say most 3-cylinder engines do idle at higher rpm compared to 4-bangers (usually around 700-800rpm). The weekday traffic just punishes the fuel efficiency of the Fiesta Ecoboost (doing 8 km/L now) but on light traffic, it is very good. The Fiesta Ecoboost really loves the highways and expressways. You can make the most out of its fuel efficiency and also its ability to scoot fast.

*carwhacko - with the 4700 you spent on fuel, how far have you traveled already? Have you went past 1000km? Assuming you did, 90L for 1000km is still good (11 km/L). Kung mga 500km pa lang, that's really bad (5.5 km/L).

*Louie - anong type ng material nung mats mo?

Small Displacement 3 Cylinder Turbo engines have to work much harder than ordinary 4 cylinder ones.

High Compression ratios will put more pressure on your pistons and other engine parts. Higher revs also adds to the wear and tear.

If thay will be the case I should've opted for the 1.5 or more engine variants

carwhacko's odometer is 630km and with 4700 spent on fuel at say 52 pesos per L, that is around 90L of fuel, and 630/90 is 7km/L which is at odds with his car's 11.4L/100km or 8.77km/L estimate. Of course, the car's computer estimate is usually a bit higher than actual but not too far off like this. Note tho that even if I did the same 630kms at my 10km/L ... that is still 63L of Blaze which is around 3500 ... which is also not cheap too but it usually takes me 3 weeks to cover that, not 8 days. Moral of story ... if you are a high mileage driver ... diesel is king.

Up for this thread, anybody tried upgrading their Ecoboost’s exhausts? or cold air intakes? Induction kits etc. Thanks!

I guess it is better to get an ECU remap kit if you want to eke out more performance from the 1.0L turbo. Some kits can put up the power gains to around 150hp/210Nm.
