Go to ford website and enter Vin. It should tell you if it's effected under the recall. It's usually 2011-2013 models. I went to ford alabang

Carbon monoxide issue lang daw yung lumalabas sa VIN nila on the Ford USA website.

It's a 2013 unit though, and they already had their steering gear replaced. Mahal nga, 200+k haha.

Buti hindi sa amin yung car...

Hi! I'm Planning on buying a 2014 Ex LE, I need your advice! I read your post, "It should tell you if it's effected under the recall. It's usually 2011-2013 models" is the 2014 model affected w/ these issues as well? or any known issue perhaps that I need to be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi all, we are about to get a 2nd hand Explorer (2014) this weekend. However browsing thru some posts in this thread, it kind of placed some doubt in me. Is the Explorer really highly susceptible to problems/issues? Are we making a "not so wise" decision? Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

American V6 is a great car. kung V6 ang kukuhanin nyo. So fast so smooth so powerful.

Yan dahilan kumbakit hindi ko mabenta benta ang Explorer Eddie Bauer ko , this is my last gasoline car (my other cars now are all diesel). Though yun na nga lang, its always in the garage now most of the time, kasi nga hinde sya daily driver,

In America its a police car. So if you buy one make sure you join an FB page of American owners para matulungan kasa maintenance and other concerns.

Parts are not really a problem here in the Phils.

There are 3 major suppliers na mura and reasnable
    Mazford Banawe
    Thunder Banawe
Fullness Banawe - third party OEM pero all American made like Moog and Coniseal

    Serivice Center
    Shell / Petron for Maintenance
    Brdigestone for suspension related repairs
There are Ford Specialists in FB equipped with Ford Scanners and Tools, reasonable sila mag charge

So if you csn get a 2013/2014/2015 Ford Explorer less than 1M , ok na yan . Pero pag more than 1M kuha ka na lang ng Vitara / Rush / Ecosport at least brand new

Hi all, 1st time Ford owner here. I followed advice as per attached screenshot (i forgot who) that if you get a 2nd hand, magpa PMS ka na tipong pang 40K .. Change oil, sparkplugs, mga filters, all fluids, etc. I agree, para fresh slate, so i did (i bought the explorer 38K din na naman mileage so ok lang). However there are a few things the SA told me na maybe someone can verify?:
    1. Change sparkplug of 2014 Explorer is not like other cars, it takes mga 2days to complete?
    2. Power steering, brake fluid and ATF no need. 80,000 km daw change ksi Explorer.
    3. Fuel filter cannot be changed coz nakakabit sa Fuel pump, so di talaga pinapalitan hanggang masira pump.
I just need to know if i am being given the runaround para hanap ako ibang Ford Casa. Help?... Thanks guys!

Ang serviceable eh yun nasa under the engine.

Wag ka na casa magtanong, search for Ford Specialists sa FB, two are located in the Rizal area. Puro contractual nasa Ford Casa, i know kasi halos sila sumira ng explorer namen noon

Now, Im free that it's sold for good. and all I can say is, I'll never ever want to buy a Ford Vehicle again. napakahirap ng feeling na parang ka hinoldap tapos yun Ford Casa kasama sa mga holdaper. I felt so alone.

so for those of you, who still own one. good luck na lang sa inyo, sobrang relieving that I got rid of this car once and for all.

Hi guys, any explorer owner here with a 2014 2.0 ecoboost? Would appreciate inputs on fuel consumption as i am averaging only 3.5 km/liter. I don't know, maybe my gauge is wrong, or there is something defective in the engine itself.. ( this fc is abnormally low right? )

That 3.5km is normal pag Christmas season and loading regular unleaded from Shell or caltex for a Ford gas engine.

*istan Usually if not within makati, makati to BGC only. Though its not always bumper to bumper traffic..
*minicarph i put Caltex, yung 95 Octane but still same FC (as per user manual minimum is 87 octane)

Actually mas higher octane, mas malakas FC ng Ford gasoline engine , i have observed this so many times na with my old Ford V6 . Kasi mas pino, mas swabe andar hihi

I have been to the Ford American forums too long, pero 2014 yan unit mo so I can only say na pag lalo nag luluma ang Ford gas engine lalo lumalakas ang consumption, coz there are a lot of other parts na na wornout or naluluma. Like for example, an old tire na hinde ok ang pagkalbo, or suspension systems, yan bslljoint kasi ng Ford, pag lagi mo pa check sa mekaniko, sasabihan nila ok pa naman pero actually di nila alam talaga, kasi minsan lang sila makahawak ng ford. Pero that also can be the cause of higher FC, as well as yan double wishbone nila.

Imagine a gasoline trying to run all those big suspension ageing parts, kaya ako nag diesel na basta mid size suv.

Ang napansin ko lang kasi matalino ang computer ng Fords, all it will do is to pump more fuel to the engine to compensate for the nice ride with ageing parts.

Short route + Stop and Go traffic will net you 3.5 km/l. Its normal.

Actually, i noticed that on idle, when i remove my oil dipstick, oil is spitting out from it. Upon research it means crankcase pressure is high. So kailangan ipacheck pcv valve and look around for oil leaks **sigh. 1 effect daw of this is increased fuel consumption...

Kaya i vowed Never to buy anything gasoline kahit hinde Ford, whether or Subaru or Mazda or even a big Honda engine like the Pilot

Talong- talo ka talaga if you have a gasoline engine dito sa Pinas. Gasoline engines are never meant for stop and go, average of 15-20kph going to and fro to work daily.

It will be very hard to debug that and they would charge you an arm for that lalo na kung sa Shell or Petron service ka lang. Ford casas mas matinde pa. You have a better chance with Ford Specialists, there are 3-4. Somehow, it’s nice. Pero hinde nman ako celebrity , why am i suffering the same fate us them? Sila kelangan talaga nila ma-differentiate sila sa masses car, kaya they buy Explorers or chevys or subarus, it’s part of their persona.

One of the best days of life was when my Explorer was bought na hihi
