I think in general the LimitedSlip is very useful in terms of safety but with the LimitedSlip on the new Expedition Ford made a lousy job thus creating a big mechanical problem for the owners.
Remember that this is very noticable during slow cornering once the problem is there.
just watchout for it incase lumabas yan problem bring it to your dealers agad for warranty.
Tandaan nyo pag kakamalan nyo na ang problem ay sa front suspension or tires but in fact it's the rear LimitedSlip that is causing the problem kasi the LimitedSlip will frooze up and will push the truck foward parang tumatalon yun gulong sa pavement in front.

rebel lupit mo dude. sinilip ko yung EB version ganda sobra. air susppension standard na 4x4, moonroof, DVD para kang nasa first cclass, . tsaka yung power foldding 3rd row. how much mo nakuha?

Promdiboy,
Tagal ako nag research bago ako nag order ng expe I think last september pa ako nag simula mag research.
kasi konti lang difference ng price of xlt at eddie bauer considering all the amenities ng eddie bauer.
Eddie Bauer has the following additionals:
1. Leather Seats
2. Lower bumper Grill
3. wheel-lip Moldings
4. side mirror with integrated turn signals
5. Dual Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Controls
6. Memory Feature- Driver's Seat, sideview mirrors and power adjustable accelerator and brake pedals
7. Steering wheel with duplicate audio and climate control
8. The side mirror tilts downward during reverse
9. two tone (without the EB premium Package)
I'm not sure of exact price difference pero estimate ko nasa less than $2,000 lang for same base model ng xlt to eddie bauer.
Yun unit ko cost around $34,000 plus yata after rebates pero I'll have to spend mga $1,750 for shipping pa.
kaya umabot yan ng $34K kasi I order the base unit ng expe with the 5.4L engine and climate controlled seats and rear DVD and Eddie Bauer Premium Package.
Lets not talk about the tax kasi hindi applicable yan sa unit ko dahil papasok yan dito ng tax-exempt.
Balita ko bebenta ng ford yun 4x4 na eddie bauer around 3.5M yata or more.Last edited by rebel; January 9th, 2004 at 01:37 AM.

bakit kaya walang air-suspension ang mga pinarating dito mga 2003models unlike the old expy meron airsuspension?

but i also like the gen2, medyo firmer.
went to the province yesterday around 150km from manila medyo rough road, me napansin na kong rattles sa door driver side.

that problem applies to some vehicles only and not to all units, otherwise there would have been a recall.............. sana walang magkaganun na unit d2 sa pinas.

I won't be surprise if there would be a recall in the near future for the 2003 models with LimitesSlip.
Yun airsuspension nila for this new expe is sa Rear lang and it's called LOAD LEVELLING SUSPENSION usefull when you use your expe for towing.
The LLS is only available for 5.4L engines exclusively.
I'm not familiar with the old model expe pero parang may air suspension din yun sa harap.

Down side with the Expe that I'm bringing over is I won't have any Warranty at all.
We asked Ford Phils many times to let us import the unit thru them to avail of the warranty but they are not interested.
I'm not sure kung ilan KM ang warranty ng bagong expe pero I'll be able to clock 50,000 Km for only 12 months.

yes very comfy ang gen1 with air suspension kaya lang when cruising at highway speeds at napadaan ka sa lubak na medyo malalim, malayo ka na sa lubak ay umaalon ka pa hehe mahihilo ka tuloy.
but i also like the gen2, medyo firmer.

There is also a TSB about the problem. (#03-23-03 -- 2003 EXPEDITION/NAVIGATOR: BODY - TRIM -
NOISE FROM DOOR CLADDING)
17078 2003 EXPEDITION/NAVIGATOR - RATTLE, RUBBING OR
TICKING NOISE FROM DOOR
SOME 2003 EXPEDITIONS/NAVIGATORS BUILT BEFORE 7/21/03
MAY EXHIBIT A RATTLE, RUBBING OR TICKING NOISE FROM
ONE OR MORE DOORS DUE TO EXCESS MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR
RELATIVE TO THE LATCH STRIKER PLATE. TO VERIFY, DRIVE
VEHICLE AND MANUALLY PULL DOOR INBOARD WHILE NOISE IS
PRESENT. IF NOISE IS UNCHANGED, CLADDING RATTLE IS A
MORE LIKELY CAUSE. IF NOISE DECREASES, REPLACE
WEATHER- STRIP AND/OR DOOR LATCH ONLY ON THE AFFECTED
DOOR(S) AS NEEDED BASED ON BUILD DATE: UNITS BLT AFTER
05/12/03 CONTAIN REVISED WEATHERSTRIP; UNITS BLT AFTER
7/21/03 CONTAIN REVISED LATCHES. DO 'NOT' RESET DOORS
- DOOR CLOSING EFFORTS WILL DECREASE IN 2 WEEKS AS
SEALS AGE. WEATHERSTRIP: 3L1Z-7820708-BA (FRONT); 3L1Z-78253A10-BA (REAR). DOOR LATCH: 4L1Z-78219A64-AA(RT FNT), 4L1Z- 78219A65-AA(LEFT FNT), 4L1Z-78264A00-AA(RT RR), 4L1Z-78264A01-AA(LEFT RR)
I would suggest you go to your ford dealer and show them this TSB for them to fix the problem.
Good Luck!
