Binalik ko sa ford, and after tightening some lose screws, nawala ang sounds.....until yesterday, after a week of driving. Wala na yung license plate sound, pero narining ko uli ang high pitched sound, parang galing in the direction of the glove compartment. And as I suspected, ayaw na uli mag eject ng dvd player.

My ride is a 2007 Ford Everest 3.0 Limited. I bought it at Ford Cavite-Anabu. After its 2-year life, I noticed this screeching sound whenever I pedalled on the brakes. I used to bring the car to Ford Alabang for maintainance due to its proximity to Sta. Rosa & I can say that their service is quite good, reception & service people courteous including the guards. But they were unable to get rid of that annoying sound even as I told them that my concern was safety as that sound might be an indicator of problems with my brakes which could later result in an accident. They could not find problem even with their computer gadget connected to the ECU of my car. The head technician then asked me to test drive with him so as to prove that there is no problem with my brakes. When he drove it & pedalled on the brakes, both of us could not hear any screeching sound. He tried it several times with varying speeds & stops and there was no sound. Both of us convinced, I thanked him and even offered him a tip but he couteously declined - he said that is part of service - I was amazed & left wondering if I were still in the Philippines . But on my way home, again I have this strange sound on my brakes. The next 5000km. service, I decided to bring the car to its original dealer - Anabu Cavite. I told them the story, after some discussions, we left the car with them & when we returned after 3 to 4 hours, the technician handed me the key and he said that the sound is gone. On our way home, until now, that annoying sound really disappeared.
So, I would suggest that you bring your ride to Ford Anabu to get rid of that strange sounds and also the problems with your DVD. Their service is also good & their technicians more knowledgeable, though they don't have the facilities that Ford Alabang have as their waiting center is quite small but still liveable.

You will not get wrong buying the new everest as I have not regretted buying one in 2007. I am a proud owner and mine is still beautiful until now on its 3rd year with only minor problems solved as I discussed in an earlier answer to a query about strange sounds. With competitors having safety problems with their cars, Ford remains steadfast with their safety standards and conservative even with their global performance. They seem to be not so much in a hurry to mass produce cars that could later compromise their safety standards which could surely taint their reputation in the future.

The annoying sound is a difficult one to complain. If you have been using your vehicle, you become aware of this sound but a technician, they might not appreciate this things.

Good for you, Ford Anabu was able to solve the problem.

Check pala amenities and aesthetic aspects. If you favor this things over performance, I would go with Montero

many thanks. yund dvd, offhand sinabi na ng technician sa ford global na palitan na lang. as to the squeaking sound, na-trace ko, its from one of the rear seats! papasok ko na uli sa week 1 ng may (apparently puno ang sched ng mga mechanic dun) for them to fix.

I really like the engine of the new everest, very fast to accelerate!

Ford Balintawak and Quezon ave are sister branch. They have a bad reputation when it comes to after sales service. If you have options try looking for other branch

Hi! Id like to share my sis' experience with Ford, Fort in Taguig. Her Everst is 07 model. Just last month, the dash blacked out, and it wont start. Towed to the casa.
So it was fixed, but service noticed AT tranny is slipping (w/c I have notice and reported a few months after release and they fixed it), may tubig daw, at baka na-Ondoy this time. But it was not Ondoy'd. My sis was adamant that it was in their (ford's) garage during the Ondoy. They denied it and quoted 330K. They believed their moron mechanics' assumptions.
After a few calls to a few big shots who knows Ford PH's boss , the amount is wiped out in 3days. Now she is planning to get rid of the car and turn to an asian brand. Its not entirely the car but its the service w/c aggravates the impression. Hope to hear your thoughts on this.
The car is AT 2.5, I used to drive it out of town. The torque is exhilarating, esp when turbo kicks in, and this is when the car is full.

Hey guys, poor service doesn't only apply to Ford, Toyotas, and other casas are just about the same.. The problem isn't the company, the problem are the people who works there, I mean look at Toyota and how they look at their D4d problem..

I. Beg to disagree . Hyundai provides very good service. The company is a reflection of the people who works there. We cant't blame the company because it is not an entity.

Ei Guys, thanks for your thoughts. Well, it is running 2 months now that the car is still with them, as the parts are being ordered and who the heck knows where it is coming from, US? I offered her my car most of the time to borrow. It's a Hyundai. And I have not one complain with their service, I even wanted to commend them. From sales to after sales.
Ford could have offered a service vehicle if they really want to compensate the frustration.
Customer service for me is how the company is represented, what the options to offer, and to avoid their customers from being their own detractors. Mostly are controllable factors. It is not what happened, but its what you can do to fix it and how you do it.
Ford Everest is still one of the fastest SUV's in its class!

Buckle up!

I would never buy ford again. I even discouraged relatives and friends from buying one. Got bad service from ford alabang where some claim offers the best service among ford dealerships.

Too bad that even Ford Alabang has bad service. We are left with Ford Anabu......why would you go to Ford Anabu (Cavite) if you leave here in Manila.

Is there no help for a Ford user!!!!!!!!

I suggest that you seek on the westwardly direction or bury your sentiments in rough sands of the seas so that no remebrance of it will heard among ford owners forever!

Bottom Line..... just because you have a manufacturer's warranty doesn't ALWAYS mean peace of mind, whether its ford, toyota and the others..... Somethings we all have to consider before buying a new car..... Dapat kasama sa warranty is yung service car if matagal ma repair, kasi its their fault. Anu yan wala silang pinag kaiba sa tabi-tabing talyer?
