It gets more interesting ... Ford Thailand lists all its Focus variants as having EHPAS (electric hydraulic power assist), and all variants have Torque Vectoring and Active Grille Shutters as standard feature - including the base Ambiente 1.6 MT. Ford Australia lists the Ambiente MT as having HPAS, and the rest EPAS (this makes more sense). Ford PH meanwhile seems to have the distinction of having the most cheaped out Focus on the planet (Torque vectoring and Active Grille Shutter only available on the TOTL models) and the only Trend models with HPAS if the official PH specsheet is to be believed.

Indeed , was able to see one at SM sucat, the rear passenger floor has huge center bulge reminiscent of box type lancer na rear wheel drive, leads me to ask the SA if it's rear wheel drive because of this. Notice that the vios has flat rear floor making it roomier. One Epic Fail!!!

The center tunnel is used to route the exhaust system (tucked in) and also acts as reinforcement for the floor.
5-star safety and one of the best NVH in its class, can't really call it a fail.

Center tunnel is not really that big...

    ...Mazda 3 is similar

Saw one in flesh along ortigas days ago, color white HB. Ehhhh.

Maybe it would look better if it was black?

According to the brochure, the Titanium+ and Sport+ come with HID headlamps with LED stripe light.

Hoping to get a long term test soon.

Just got my first short drive. Fantastic car, the new Sport. The GDI Sport is almost as quick as the TDCI off the line, and much stronger at high speed. The Sport suspension is perfect. Well controlled at all speeds and not stiff at all. The new steering is just as feelsome as before but much quicker and lighter.

Still not the biggest car in the class, but lots of legroom compared to the old car, and interior quality is second to none.

    Fantastic car!

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Hi, I'm planning to buy a Ford Focus Ambiente HB 1.6a/t. i have some questions po,

1.) if ever i decided to get one let's say next week, may mabibigay po ba sila sakin na unit?
2.) what are the features with this specific trim?
3.) what are the difference sa looks ng high-end variants in comparison with this? hindi po ba masyadong boring at malayo dun sa picture above.

    TIA

Sir! It's good to find out that you are really interested with picking your car. you should have asked for a brochure sa Ford dealer na pinuntahan mo anyways since i have one i think i could help.

Toys such as the following are only found in TOTL variants of Focus:
    >Ofcourse, the engine
    >16" alloy for Titanium, 17" alloy for Sport+
    >Side and curtain airbags
    > Torque Vectoring Control
    > Front and reaar parking aid
    > Active park assist
    > active city stop
    > Blind spot information system (Titanium only)
    > active grille shutter
    > speed limiter
    > perimeter alarm
    > HID lamps with cornering and auto leveling
    > Power-foldable with puddle lamps

    > Dual electronic temperature control airconditioning
    > Leather 4-way power driver seats (Titanium) Partial leather 4-way manual (Sport+)
    > rear seat armrest with cup holders
    > electrochromic rear view mirror (eto ata yung auto dim feature which is the same with the previous gen focus (Mk2.5)
    > ambient lighting
    > front dome light with individual map lights
    > eco mode, trip computer, varriable dimming & outside temperature
    > SONY HU
    > 4.2" TFT screen multifunction display
    > 9 speakers
    > SYNC powered by microsoft
    > smart keyless entry
    > power start button

Remember the Fortuner issue where they blamed the poor diesel we have?? It took a while before they finally admitted their fuel delivery system was at fault and not the fuel...

Mercedes Benz took a year of road testing their diesel cars in the Philippines before they were eventually launched. They loaded diesel from the usual suspects to the small and VERY small players and the engine didn't even cough once... After MB launched their diesel variants, Audi followed suit. I don't know if BMW has diesel variants in their present line up of cars...

It's really very sad to see Ford not having their fabulous TDCi Focus... It's one heck of a speedy car with the thriftiness of a diesel!!!!
BMW has diesel variants in almost all of their vehicle line up. It is only the M versions of their sedans and their coupes that do not have diesel engines.

I hope that Ford would see the light of end of the tunnel and decide to construct a diesel engine plant next to their assembly line in Rayong, Thailand. There's a market for diesel powered sedans in the ASEAN region.

My SA gave me i think 30,000 pesos discount, not as big as the corolla's offering which i think is 100k but not bad considering it is just new in the market.
