April 5th, 2011 08:20 PM #1Probably too early to ask, bago lang ang fiesta sa local market... pero what do you think used prices will be 2 and 4 years down the line?

Maraming factors ang resale value. Brand perception, quality, MARKET DEMAND in the 2nd hand market (the most important)... Hirap magsabi ng actual resale... Ako siguro if bebenta ko ito 5 years from now subukan ko asking P550K tapos tignan natin from there anong lalabas...

Yan ang isang disadvantage of buying a new model. Uncertain depreciation in a few years time (unless you're keeping the car)

April 5th, 2011 09:13 PM #5given the baseline of 15% depreciation on a well maintained car. here it is. of course you will have to factor in market demand but more or less... this can be a baseline. also put in 20% depreciation... you can use this if demand is low or if the car isnt too well maintained.
year 1-5 estimated resale value at 15%, and 20% depreciation. this is for a fiesta sport.
15% depreciation
816 693 589 501 425 362
20% depreciation
816 652 417 334 334 267

Let us depreciate it 100% in 5 years:
P685,000 / 5 years = 137,000 per year
137,000 / 365 days = P375 per day
Now if because of the sleek image the FoFi gives me, I earn P1,500 per day
P 1,500 earning less 375 FoFi expense = P1,125 net
1,125 X 365 days X 5 years = P2,053,125
If used this way, I can say the Fiesta is a good investment.
If I am able to sell it after 5 years, it will be even more profit from my investment.
In whatever field you are in, be an employee, a professional like a doctor, a businessman, let me ask you, will your boss, patient, client be more impressed with you if you drove in on a FoFi or a Vios?
Clients tend to see style and class. Ibubulong mo ba sa kanila : "Ganda kasi nf FC nito. or OK ang resale value nito after 5 years, hehehehe (blushing)"
Ganda nga ng FC, mura nga ng pyesa, ganda nga ng resale value, maganda na lahat, pero if your ride does not add to your image and eventually your professional success, in my book - poor investment.
I don't buy cellphones so that I can sell them at a good price later. I buy them to be accessible to clients and for clients to be accessible to me.
"Can't bring 'em into our graves" 'ika nga. Cellphones and cars should be treated as objects.
Objects as tools for a higher purpose in our lives.

April 6th, 2011 12:59 AM #8Good consolation sir Viva!!! hehehehe...
Up to now, hindi ko pa rin pinapakita sa office ang FoFi ko... patago ako pag nagpapark...
Honestly, malayo sa image ko ang (should I say) formal or disente style ni Sparky.
Who cares anyway, I love this car... ^___^

Dapat Batmobile pala pangalan nyan. Secret identity
Hindi tinatago yan.... Dinidispley yan........
Medyo hinahanapan ko ng meaning lahat eh. "Galing lahat sa Itaas yan" ang madalas na sabi.
Di ba pinaganak tayo lahat hubo't hubad. Ngayon dahil din sa Itaas nabiyayaan tayo magkroon ng Sparkling Gold. Eh di may balak ang sa Itaas dyan. Dapat gamitin, ipagdispley at wag itago.
Sige ka, baka bawiin yan .....
