hi. just wanted to get your opinion. I am thinking of getting an everest gen 1 as a second ride (my budget only fits this model lang kasi, would have wanted the CRDI) . pero madami ko naririnig na di maganda feedback, i.e. mileage, tag tag, cost of maintenance. siguro concern ko is mileage mostly since lalo na 2nd hand nalang makukuha ko. knowing all the pros and cons about this vehicle, is this still a good buy? hoping to know your opinions, lalo na sa mga previous eve gen 1 owners

reason why i had this choice. matibay, high ground clearance. space. power?

    thanks!

Matakaw nga po talaga yung Gen1 Everest lalo na kung automatic. Girlfriend has the 4x4 Manual and feedback from their driver eh matakaw nga talaga sa diesel. Hassle lang 3rd row, no headrest!

Checked the motioncars.com car.chart and the everest gen1 had a 2.5 intercooled engine capable of 110hp and 268Nm. Very capable naman po siya sa akyatan at hilahan. Ok na ok din yung ground clearance niya.

Parts for the old Eve are mostly the same as the Ranger, and there's a little backwards compatibility with the old Mazda pickups, too, so you can find parts from outside suppliers with no issue... the biggest problem you might have is finding parts for the 4WD system if anything breaks.

Not a bad truck. A few friends have them as off-roading toys... very capable, very rugged, very simple. And very, very cheap secondhand. (because they're not as "pogi" as the Fortuner...) ;)

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

thanks for your opinions... what you all said is true, actually for some reason the simplicity and ruggedness of this version is what i like. less the consumption, pero parang di naman din nagkakalayo mashado consumo ng gen 2 dito sa gen 1? am i right to say this? also, what is really the price range of a second hand unit, i am seeing some are overshooting up to 800K pa but some are just around 550 - 600k?

aside from this unit, what other rides would u suggest given the same price range? may mga nakikita ko na trooper 2003 model around the same range but i am not really a fan of isuzu. fortuner mahal pa kasi kahit second hand.

just a list of vehicles in my knowledge that would be in the same level as the Ford Everest:

    Nissan Murano

    Mitsubishi Fuzion (maybe not)
    Pajero
    Montero Sport
    Outlander

    Toyota Fortuner

    Hyundai Santa Fe

    Subaru Forester
Tribeca (according sa web site, meron daw dito)

suggestion ko? hirap eh, di ko afford lahat yan

would go for the Fortuner vvti, reliable engine, elegante ang porma, mukha pang mayaman. draw back lang, mas maluwag pa ang innova. Congrats sa future auto mo sir
