Yeah Alan Mulally decided to reduce their stake at Mazda (in line with his focus on the blue oval and Lincoln, he also axed Mercury) but its more on a financial position rather than technical one. They will still continue to have a strong relationship on the technical side...

And the local Ford owns the Mazda brand here so regardless of Ford Motor's stake with Mazda in the global scale the local Ford is still responsible for the Mazda brand here... So either they ax the Mazda 6 and replace it with the Mondeo, that could work... Just don't try to field 2 competing cars in a very small pie, you end up with nothing...

The electronics in the '12 Focus are spectacular. Sana lang maraming sumama dito sa ASEAN markets.

And having a seven year old car is fine.. Kasi nga napiga na.. Kaso iba talaga kung bibili ka ng brand-new car na seven year old model na. Considering na papatagalin ko dapat yung car ng at least seven years, halos 15 years na yung model.

Easy way out nga yung Montero eh.. Para lang talagang sayang kasi Fortuner naman yung talagang family car namin..

Paano ba yung sinasabing model upgrade sa kahapon? Buy Focus now, upgrade later? Paano yun?

What they are saying is buy the Focus now and when the MK3 Focus comes with facelift (mga 5 years from now siguro) then replace your MK2. An expensive option... Pero seriously in your case I think you might have to bite the MK2 na... Matagal pa ang MK3 2012 pa yun, I don't think you can wait that long...

yeah if you cant wait for 2012 and you really like the current focus and badly need a car then go get it. when i asked for a quotation last month for the current focus - one dealer offered a 40k discount, not in-house financing but thru my bank

I would love the Fiesta actually. Mom doesn't like it. Dad's okay with it.

Kaso I hear yung FC niya is a lot worse than expected..

Anong modern car ba sa Pinas na under 1.5M ang maganda ang FC?

I think the new one only had a facelift (change of grill etc.) pero its still the same mechanically...

2010 Focus TDCi Sport.

New wheels, new bumper, auto on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers & auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Grill is the same, but the bar above the grill is now body colored.

Yes, the old one had chrome trim at the top of the grill just like the Trend and Ghia models.
I don't think there are interior changes aside from the auto-dimming rearview mirror.

What about yung preventive maintenance service? Mahal ba yung Ford Focus imaintain? Compared to other cars.. Hindi ba siya super mahal like (from what I hear) Chevrolet maintenance?
