Yeah.... if this have to be voted who amongst the A/T is worse... I think PowerShift will be the champion...

Now I need to convinced my wife to get M/T if she wants ecosport else if she wants A/t to go with the sedan as our budget limit to 1M max only... arrrrr.... I'm awaiting *chase pm for the Vitara SRP 1M after discount... it suit to our needs high ground clearance, A/T and at 1M budget..... what you think guys? though i doubt the vitara fuel efficiency vs the ecosport...

The Vitara will definitely be thirstier at the pump than the Ecosport because it's a 2.0.

Try looking at the Sportage, X-Trail, and Escape also. These CUVs have big discounts which might just fit your budget.

Thanks but I don't think they can go down as low as 1M flat.... Also, vitara is 2.4 VVT-i and I'm thinking it compensate the power to weight ration as compared to ecosport. Though in traffic I believe eco is more efficient since it consume less during stop.

It's not the power-to-weight ratio that makes the 2.0 CUVs guzzlers. Their 2-liter engines pull just fine. They're guzzlers because they have high displacements. The solution to that is not to increase the displacement even more.

I seriously doubt the 2.4 Vitara will be more efficient than other 2.0 CUVs. Especially with an ancient 4AT.

One thing going for the Vitara though is that it'll be torquier than the other 2.0 CUVs, at a much cheaper price too.

hmmm... i've been reading the M/T vs the A/T of the ecosport...

Is it big deal to have Electronic Stability and Hill Launch Assist(convenience in traffic since it's A/T)?

Because those features separate the M/T vs the A/T...

but M/T don't have issue in transmission as what is reported to DCT...

what do you think guys? if you weigh-in the cons and pros...

Push me to get the M/T instead, please... hehehe..

Electronic Stability is useful when cornering. Get the MT for peace of mind. The Ecosport Trend MT might have Electronic Stability and Hill Assist. It's the Ambiente that does not have those. Plus they give more freebies with Trend MT compared to AT.

thanks walter... walang nakalagay sa specification nila yung ES and HA features for trend M/T... though young acceleration ni M/T is okay na din kasi pag ni angat mo lang yung clutch mo without pushing the gas pedal tumatakbo na yung EcoSport kahit full release mo pa yung clutch di ka ma papatayan ng makina... is that normal? hehehe...

Anyways for freebies, I'm in Cebu and i don't know how to haggle for it... sa A/t they only offer seat cover and matting... yung tinting is for negotiation pa... gusto ko sana free tinting, parking sensor, car cover, chattel and LTO registration... kahit ako na mag babayad for insurance... hahaha..

Hill Launch Assist enables the vehicle to hold for a couple of seconds before it begin to slide back when at an incline position.

Get the A/T if you are mostly doing city driving and you intend to use this car for max 5 years.

Get the M/T if you intend to use this more than 5 years.

At least this is how I weighed my decision when I both a fiesta 4 yrs ago and it's replacement, the ecosport.

Hill Launch is for people who can't modulate a clutch properly on an incline. You said so yourself that the MT Ecosport is able to keep from stalling even if the clutch is released haphazardly, which means it should be easy to control even when coming from a full stop on an inclined road.

Also, chances are you won't be needing traction control for the Ecosport. It's not exactly a car that you would take into a corner at full speed. And it's a front wheel drive with not a lot of power so I don't see many opportunities where you'll break traction.

Not having these 2 features is sure better than having a clunky dual-clutch that's also prone to faults.

No problem. Most places you park in the Philippines has a sign that says park facing in. Many cannot back up anyway.

So if we lived in a country that designs and makes its own cars, even if we aren't car designers or engineers, then we have a right to complain?

So my being part-Japanese and part-American gives me a right to complain about Japanese and American cars, but not European ones, right?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Anyone here bought a Titanium and got their unit already? Just trying to get an idea how Ford's turn around time in delivering new models, specially top of the line models, here in PH for future buys. I booked a Titanium this March and was told by my SA that it will be available by first week of April but still no Titanium after 2 months. Not for this reason, I bought a focus instead.

Would the issues on dual clutch transmission instability of the at version be noticeable if I'm a first time driver? I was thinking this will only affect the more experienced ones. Will it be something I'll probably get used to or does it have more serious implications on safety? Yes, no?

Pansin ko mas hindi pansin ng non enthusiast yung jerking ng ecosport/fiesta. Mas pansin sya ng mga enthusiast

With regards to safety may friend akong may fiesta, hinabol nya yung stoplight. E since mabagal nga umarangkada, he didnt manage to cross the intersection. Inabot na ng green light yung kabila, binangga na ng truck. Hehe. I guess yun lang naman ang safety issue dun. Pag hindi tantsado yung arangkada nya. Kasi mabagal talaga e. If you floor it, ang taas n ng rpm pero ang tagal ipasa sa wheels yung speed na dapat.

True. Expect around 1.5 second lag from the time you step on the pedal heavily and for the power to transfer to the wheels. Yan din weakness ng DCT may lag unlike mga pure mechanical throttle pag apak transferred agad ang power sa wheels...

Pero on a side note mali din friend mo in trying to beat the lights...

You should've bought something else like a Mazda3 or Toyota Corolla. Just to teach those greedy Ford S.A.s a lesson.
