kung 1 secs. lang diperensya 0-100kph ng stock vs alcohol injection , dito nalang ako sa stock at least ala ka kaba baka makasira sa engine ang alcohol injection in the long run.

Isn't the 2.5 something like 13-14 seconds? Alcohol is perfectly safe as long as you don't flood the engine with it. Safer, in fact, than fiddling with the turbo boost.

baka nagka-typo error yung TS. dapat 18-20 secs. that would be a reason for concern.

...or baka naman nagtrasplant na ng makina galing sa explorer trac.

    2000 kg SUVs:
    Everest 2.5: 14.5 seconds - 140 hp
    Fortuner 3.0: 13 seconds - 160 hp (AT, 4x4... if it were 4x2, then 11)
    Hyundai Veracruz: 9.4 seconds - 240 hp (AT 4x4)

11-12 seconds, I can believe, with the boost raised on the turbo, the fueling adjusted to match, and alcohol injection bringing the power to 140-150 hp or thereabouts, but 10 seconds and below takes a hell of a lot of power... more than just simple mods can make... safely.

kung yung gen1 ranger trekker m/t with the old 2.5wlt engine kaya nga ang 10 seconds. nasubukan ko na yan kasi i had one before. i think 9. something yung sa timer ko hehehe, on to a top speed of 180kmh. pero sa gen1 everest with the heavier body and a/t pa (had this one also), swerte na akong maka 14 sec 0-100kph hehehe. biglang nawala yung TS hindi na nakapag reply

Well... it's all conjecture... hand-timed really isn't that accurate... especially on pickups, where the different wheel sizes on different variants mean the speedo is often suggestive, not descriptive.

I'd like to put the 2.5 to the V-Box to double-check.

Fastest 2.5 we've V-Boxed is the Navarra. 11.5 seconds or so, I believe... but that's because the stupid ECU cuts power every time we try to do a drop-clutch launch. Should've been 10 seconds or so.

The old Ranger WLT can't do 10 seconds. I'm betting around 13, maybe... just not enough power.

Ano... drag-race party tayo? Hehehe... Paseo de Santa Rosa... Beers on me...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

what's with the whole 8-10 seconds to reach 100 kph anyway? on a diesel pickup/auv?

a diesel pickup/auv ain't never gonna be racecar, boss ts... reminds me of a thread here once when some moron claimed to race/run his diesel adventure to near 170 kph... fantastic... i bet that thing got 30 kms to a liter too.

use the right tool for the job, i say. if you want a fast getaway vehicle when robbing backs, or you want to run the quarter mile at under 13 seconds, get a subcompact with a big engine.

ok rant over... magkakape nako hehe

Even the newer Ford Ranger & Mazda BT-50 2.5L wouldn't do a 0-100kph run in 10 seconds or less... yes it can reach 180kph but it ain't going to be racing those Civic 2.0s yet.
